Outline

Who would’ve imagined that a company born from tractors would someday craft some of the most extravagant supercars ever made? When Ferruccio Lamborghini founded Automobili Lamborghini in 1963, he set out not just to build cars, but to challenge Ferrari and redefine automotive excellence. What followed was a legacy of engineering marvels and jaw-dropping designs, from the revolutionary Miura to the iconic Countach and beyond.

Today, the Raging Bull emblem stands for raw power, striking aesthetics, and exclusivity. Unsurprisingly, the price tags reflect this pedigree. Some models are so rare and powerful that they command astronomical figures, placing them firmly among the most expensive cars ever produced.

In fact, even the least expensive Lamborghini in this list here would remain a dream for many. But that's the thrill of it: exploring just how far Lamborghini can push the limits of both design and price. Here goes the list of the most expensive Lamborghinis in the world.

Which is the Most Expensive Lamborghini?

When Lamborghini goes wild with design and slaps on a “limited edition” badge, you just know your bank account’s in trouble. The Italian supercar maker has a long history of building eye-wateringly expensive machines, but one name reigns supreme when it comes to jaw-dropping price tags: the Lamborghini Veneno.

A raging bull built to celebrate 50 years of Lambo excellence in 2014, the Lamborghini Veneno was offered at a base price of ₹34.03 Crores ($4 million). Based on the Aventador’s underpinnings but dialled up to eleven, the Veneno looked more like a spaceship than a road car. With only 12 ever made (that’s nine roadsters and three coupes), it was practically mythic.

In fact, the roadster version didn’t even come with a roof. That’s right, permanently open, wild and untamed. One of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadsters went under the hammer in 2019 for a staggering ₹70.61 Crores ($8.3 million), earning it the crown of the most expensive Lamborghini ever sold at auction.

While officially, the costliest Lamborghini in the world title belongs to the Veneno Roadster, there has been another wild unit of a Lamborghini that unofficially has an insane resale value.

The Aventador J, built as a one-off speedster in 2012, this radical machine with no roof, no windshield, and no side windows, just you, the elements, and a brutal V12 symphony. Lamborghini carved it straight out of carbon fibre, added tiny wind deflectors, and said: “Let’s see who dares.”

Initially sold for ₹23.82 Crores ($2.8 million), its owner recently showed it off at a Supercar Owners Circle meet in Marbella, Spain, and reportedly turned down an ₹84.79 Crores ($10 million) offer. That unofficially makes it the priciest Lamborghini ever produced, even if the Veneno still holds the official auction record.

1. Lamborghini Veneno

Lamborghini Veneno

Lamborghini Veneno Price: Starts at $4 million (₹34.03 Crores)

Built to mark Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, the Veneno was based on the Aventador but taken to another stratosphere. Radical design, limited production, and extreme performance made it a legend the moment it broke cover.

Just three Veneno Coupés were made for customers, each finished in a menacing shade of Grigio Metalluro with accents in the colours of the Italian flag. One more coupe was retained by Lamborghini for its museum. If that wasn’t exclusive enough, Lamborghini upped the ante with the Veneno Roadster ,only nine were ever built, each one fully customisable and with one striking omission: a roof. This wasn’t a convertible in the usual sense; the roadster didn’t have, and couldn’t be ordered with, a top. Just open skies and unfiltered velocity.

Powering both variants of the Lamborghini Veneno is the uprated L539 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, pushed to deliver 740 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. Enlarged air intakes and a tuned exhaust helped squeeze out the extra performance. That translates to a 0–100 kmph (0–60 mph) sprint in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 355 kmph (221 mph), putting it firmly in hypercar territory.

Underneath the sharply sculpted body, the Veneno shares much of its core with the Aventador LP700-4: a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis with aluminium subframes. Inside, carbon fibre dominates, including forged composite seatbacks that are as light as they are futuristic.

When new, the Veneno Coupe carried a price tag of around ₹34.03 Crores ($4 million), with the Roadster demanding about ₹ 4.32 Crore ($500,000) more. In 2019, one Roadster crossed the auction block for a jaw-dropping ₹70.61 Crores ($8.3 million), cementing its place as the most expensive Lamborghini ever sold.

2. Lamborghini Sian

Lamborghini Sian

Lamborghini Sian Price: Starts at $3 Million (₹25.5 Crores)

A wild fusion of tradition and innovation, the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 is the raging bull’s first hybrid supercar, and one of its most exclusive creations ever.

Built on the bones of the Aventador SVJ, the Sián takes Lamborghini’s V12 legacy and electrifies it, literally. Underneath that striking carbon-fibre skin lies a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, paired with a 48-volt electric motor integrated into the gearbox. Together, they unleash a jaw-dropping 808 horsepower, catapulting the Lamborghini Sian from 0 to 100 kmph (0 to 62 mph) in under 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of head-spinning 355 kmph (220 mph).

Visually, the Sián is pure theatre - sharp, Countach-inspired lines, a low-slung stance, Terzo Millennio-inspired Y-shaped headlights, and aggressive hexagonal elements throughout. Every panel is crafted from carbon fibre, and airflow is sculpted to perfection.

Limited to just 63 coupes and 19 roadsters, each hand-built by Lamborghini’s Ad Personam division, the Sián FKP 37 pays homage to the brand’s 1963 founding year. Naturally, every unit was already sold, long before the first was even delivered.

Electrified, extreme, and exquisitely rare, the Lamborghini Sian originally carried a price tag of around ₹25.5 Crores ($3 million), making it one of the costliest Lamborghini cars in the world. In fact, the Sián’s current market value has soared even beyond ₹41.68 Crores ($4.9 million) today.

3. Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Price: Starts at $2.92 Million (₹24.84 Crores)

If the Reventón flirted with futurism, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento married it outright. Named after carbon, the sixth element in the periodic table, this track-only weapon is a masterclass in ultra-lightweight engineering and aggressive minimalism.

Back in mid-2011, Lamborghini had originally planned to build 20 units of it, strictly for track use. Back then, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento carried a price tag of around ₹24.84 Crores ($2.92 million) a unit, making it the most expensive Lamborghini ever made. However, due to its price and non-road-legal status, only around 10 are believed to have been made. Even so, this carbon-fibre ghost became a unicorn among collectors, and with resale values touching ₹55.29 Crores ($6.5 million), it’s proof that the extreme still sells.

At just 2,200 pounds, the Sesto Elemento is lighter than a Hyundai Veloster hatchback. Its entire body is crafted from matte-finished, visible carbon fibre, showcasing the material’s beauty while exploiting its strength. Even among Lamborghinis, the shapes here are extreme: a mid-engine layout with razor-sharp edges, a dramatically short rear overhang, and an open back that exposes the exhaust and transmission like a piece of kinetic art.

Beneath those ten cooling vents, roars a 5.2-litre V10, producing 570 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and  540 Nm of torque. With all-wheel drive and that astonishing curb weight, it launches to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, with a top speed said to be well over 299 kmph (185 mph).

4. Lamborghini Countach

Lamborghini Countach

Lamborghini Countach Price: Starts at $2.64 Million (₹22.46 Crores)

Among the most expensive Lamborghini models is the modern iteration of the Countach. Yes, not the classic version that made its debut over 50 years ago at the Geneva Motor Show, but the new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, which takes everything you love about the original and reimagines it for today's Lamborghini enthusiasts.

And it's more than just a nod to the Countach's legendary name; it brings retro-inspired design elements that pay tribute to its roots. The signature hexagonal wheel arches and scissor doors are here, though the pop-up headlights that once defined the Countach are absent.

Unveiled first on 14 August 2021, the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4’s retro lines and trademark elements are all executed on the lightweight rebody of the Aventador. Underneath those iconic lines of the modern Countach lies the modern soul from the Lamborghini Sian, the soul liked by all Lamborghini enthusiasts, a monstrous mid-mounted V-12 engine, paired with a small electric motor powered by a supercapacitor. Together, they produce a jaw-dropping 802 horsepower. Lamborghini claims this powertrain rockets the Countach from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 55 kmph (221 mph)

Now, for the price: such a stunning re-imagining of a legendary model demands exclusivity. Only 112 units of the 2022 Lamborghini Countach were ever produced, each priced at an insane ₹22.46 Crores ($2.64 million) and guess what? Every single one has already been snapped up.

5. Lamborghini Reventon

Lamborghini Reventon

Lamborghini Reventon Price: Starts at $1.95 Million (₹16.58 Crores)

Born from the bones of the Murcielago but dialled up to eleven, the Lamborghini Reventon is where Italian drama meets fighter jet aggression. With just 15 roadsters and 20 coupes ever made, it’s rarer than most exotics dare to be, and priced like it too.

Angular, stealth-fighter-inspired bodywork wraps around what is essentially a reimagined Murcielago LP640, though calling it just a styling exercise would be a disrespect. Lamborghini “compressed and intensified” the Murciélago’s DNA, according to former CEO Stephan Winkelmann, and the result is a car that looks like it could take off from a runway.

Under that sculpted skin of the Lamborghini Reventon sits a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, churning out 661 horsepower. It launches from 0 to 100 kmph (0 to 62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds, and maxes out at a ferocious 330 kmph (205 mph). From its digital cockpit with jet-style readouts to the fighter-inspired leather-clad cabin, the Reventón feels like it belongs in an elite squadron, not a garage.

At a price of ₹16.58 Crores ($1.95 million) and with only a handful ever delivered to the U.S., Europe, Asia, and even one to the Chechen Republic’s leader, the Reventon is a collector’s dream with afterburners.

6. Lamborghini Centenario

Lamborghini Centenario

Lamborghini Centenario Price: Starts at $1.9 Million (₹16.16 Crores)

Built to celebrate the 100th birthday of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, the Lamborghini Centenario is an ultra-exclusive masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of design and performance in true Raging Bull fashion.

Unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Centenario is based on the Aventador SV but takes things to a whole new level. With only 40 units ever produced,20 coupes and 20 roadsters, all sold by invitation, its rarity is matched only by its radical presence.

Under that futuristic skin lies a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, tuned to deliver a staggering 770 horsepower. That power launches the Centenario from 0 to 100 kmph (0 to 62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds, while flat-out, it’ll reach a top speed of 350 kmph (217 mph). A rear-wheel steering system, first for Lamborghini, enhances agility, while a carbon-fibre body, active aerodynamics, and one of the largest rear diffusers ever fitted to a car keep it glued to the road.

Even with a slight weight reduction over the Aventador, the Centenario feels like a technical showcase as much as a celebration.

The Lamborghini Centenario originally carried a sticker price of around ₹16.16 Crores ($1.9 million), however, the Centenario’s value has since soared to nearly ₹22.97 Crores ($2.7 million), thanks to its timeless appeal and extreme exclusivity. It’s not just one of the most expensive Lamborghinis ever made; it’s one of the most iconic.

7. Lamborghini Reveulto

Lamborghini Reveulto

Lamborghini Reveulto Price: Starts at $608k (₹5.17 Crores)

Hybrid cars have been steadily carving out a bigger slice of the auto world. But when it comes to hybrid supercars? That’s still rare air. And a high-performance hybrid that keeps its mighty gas engine intact instead of shrinking it? Almost unheard of. Well, in that case, meet the Lamborghini Revuelto, the brand’s first-ever HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), making its grand debut just in time for Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary celebration. Priced at ₹5.17 Crores ($608k), the Lamborghini Reveulto is currently the most expensive Lamborghini in production right now.

Under the hood, three electric motors join forces with a legendary mid-mounted V-12, no downsizing here. Together, it unleashes an astonishing 1,001 horsepower, officially crowning the Lamborghini Revuelto as the most powerful Lamborghini ever created. Sure, it doesn’t top the Most Expensive Ferrari (the F80’s 1,184-horsepower figure hybridised V6 setup), but Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated V12 not only just makes it move fast, but also sing melodic sounds while doing it, which is a character that purists will happily trade off for.

Power flows through a brand-new transversal dual-clutch e-gearbox. What you get is explosive, instant acceleration, all while keeping the spine-tingling roar of the V12 alive and well. In fact, Lamborghini claims that the Revuelto will sprint to 100 kmph (62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds and can even reach a top speed of in excess of 350 kmph (217 mph).

Nestled between the two bucket seats, a compact 3.8-kWh battery quietly does its job, offering around 5 miles of pure electric driving. Perfect for those early Saturday escapes, slipping out of your driveway before sunrise without waking half the neighbourhood.

8. Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini Aventador rice: Starts at $507k (₹4.31 Crores)

Sharply vented body panels, an aggressive low-slung stance, dramatic scissor doors, and of course, a lightweight carbon-fibre core packed with cutting-edge tech - that’s the Aventador experience in a nutshell.

This legendary nameplate, which lasted over a decade, saw its final units roll out by the 2022 model year. Lamborghini wrapped up production with the exclusive Aventador Ultimae models; just 350 coupes and 250 roadsters were crafted, each a tribute to this iconic V12 beast.

The Ultimae coupe carried a price tag of around ₹ 4.39 Crore ($507,353) while the roadster demanded about ₹ 4.76 Crore ($550,542). The Aventador Ultimae packed a mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V-12 that roared out an incredible 769 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque.

Since its launch in 2011, the Aventador has worn the "Big Lambo" crown, picking up the mantle from the mighty Murciélago. Over the years, it evolved through several wild versions. The original LP700-4 offered 690 horsepower. Later came the more potent variants, Aventador SV, S, and the wild SVJ. The SVJ, a stripped-out, track-focused monster, pushed output to 759 horsepower, slashing the 0–100 kmph (0–62 mph) sprint to just 2.6 seconds with a 352 kmph (219) mph top speed.

Now, if we’re talking about rare and extreme, among the rarest Aventadors sits the Aventador J, a road-legal, one-off speedster unveiled in 2012. Instead of launching a standard roadster first, Lamborghini showcased this radical open-top creation, selling it for ₹23.82 Crores ($2.8 million), making it one of the most expensive Lamborghini cars ever produced.
