Ever since Renault came to India in 2005, they have made a positive impact on the automobile industry. The French-based company is known for their affordable vehicles with many of their models ranging in the below 10 lakh segment. With a lineup of cars already making headlines across the country, the manufacturer is ready to launch a new range of cars that offer potential buyers a lot more than what their competitors have to offer. Let’s take a look at the upcoming Renault cars that could soon have you reaching for RC transfer papers in the coming months.
|Renault Kwid 2019||2.8 Lakh|
|Renault Triber RXZ AMT||7.0 Lakh|
|Renault Kwid EV||10.0 Lakh|
|Renault Arkana||10.0 Lakh|
|Expected Launch||October 5, 2019|
|Engine||0.8L Petrol, 1.0L Petrol|
|Transmission||5-Speed Manual, 5-Speed Automatic|
The Renault Kwid is currently one of the most 2nd hand cars in the country thanks to its performance features and affordable price tag. The 2019 Kwid is expected to feature a similar exterior as the Chinese launched City K-ZE and will take on the new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. Under the hood, the 2019 Kwid will house the same 0.8L and 1.0L petrol engines as the previous model which will come with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission respectively. The engines should come with BS6 emission compliance which was missing on the previous iteration. In terms of features, the new Kwid is said to have dual airbags in the front, parking sensors, larger touchscreen infotainment setup, new dashboard, and new instrument cluster. In some of the spy images captured, the Kwid seems to have some interesting color themes which could be a hint to a number of color options for the newer model.
|Expected Launch||October 15, 2019|
With the automotive industry in such high competition at the moment, releasing a hatchback like the Renault Triber RXZ AMT can only be beneficial for a manufacturer. Powering the car is a 1.0L petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and punches out an impressive 71bhp and 96Nm of power. The vehicle comes with a 40 litre fuel tank and has a mileage of 20.5 kmpl which is decent for the Indian market. On the inside, the Triber features a stylish dashboard with a semi-digital instrument cluster. There will also be a touchscreen display with a new infotainment system and sleek AC vents. As for the cars exteriors, the Triber will come equipped with adjustable headlamps, a chrome grille, a rear spoiler, and smoke headlamps. To get your hands on the Renault Triber RXZ AMT when it launches, a used car evaluation tool can be extremely helpful.
|Expected Launch||November 01, 2019|
|Power||26.8 kWh Lithium-Ion Battery|
Officially launched as the City-KZE in China, Renault is set to bring their electric version of the Kwid – the Kwid EV – to the country sometime in 2022. Although we know all we have to from the Chinese launch about the Kwid EV, nothing much is known about the India-based car. What we do know is that it will come with a powerful electric motor that has 125Nm of maximum torque while the power is maxed at 44PS. Backing up the motor is a 26.8 kWh Lithium-Ion battery that is expected to come with DC fast charging capabilities. This feature will take the battery from 30-80 percent in just 30 minutes. Without fast charging, the battery can be charged completely within 4 hours. Some of the other features included in the car are 4G WiFi, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air quality sensors, and online music streaming.
|Expected Launch||April 06, 2020|
|Engine||1.3L Turbocharged Petrol, 1.5L Blue dCi Diesel|
|Transmission||6-Speed Manual, 6-Speed DSG Automatic, 7-Speed DSG Automatic|
Unveiled at the Moscow International Auto Salon in 2018, the Renault Arkana is ready to make its way over to the Indian subcontinent. The luxury coupe-crossover will offer premium features at an affordable price and can be a competitor to the likes of the Mercedes GLE Coupe and the BMW X6. Targeted at the mid-size SUV market, the Arkana will be placed above the Renault Captur. The car will most likely feature a 1.3L Turbocharged petrol engine that will come with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission while the 1.5L Blue dCi Diesel engine will feature a 6-speed manual and 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. The company’s latest R-LINK 2 infotainment system is said to feature on the Arkana which houses a 8.7-inch touchscreen display and will be accompanied with a number of other interior features.
The above mentioned Renault cars are set to make an appearance in the coming months and could soon be taking over Indian roads. Renault, as a company, sell cars that know how to deliver a performance that make them stand out in a crowd. With a lot of competition in the budget car segment right now, Renault’s upcoming models could easily boost them to the top of the table in terms of popularity and sales.
