The MC badge changes the personality of the Maserati GranCabrio. Priced at ₹2.97 crore, this variant demands ₹23 lakh more than the base version. The exterior gets a more aggressive treatment. The bumpers are sharper, while the stance feels sportier than that of lower versions. On the road, the MC variant feels slightly more focused. Even the throttle response feels more urgent, and the exhaust is louder.  

GranCabrio MC Diesel

This is the top-end variant in the Maserati Grancabrio range. It combines the MC styling package with a 4,691 cc engine, produces 460bhp of power and 520Nm of torque. It carries the same ₹2.97 crore price tag. 

Fuel efficiency is not the focus here as the GranCabrio is a through-and-through performance car. The Maserati Grancabrio offers a claimed mileage of around 10 kmpl. In real-world Indian conditions, though, don’t expect more than 5-6 kmpl in city traffic. On highways, where the car stretches its legs, one can obtain up to 9 kmpl if driven gently. The convertible benefits from cylinder deactivation technology that helps optimise fuel efficiency. However, as the exhaust sound is quite addictive, it can get tough for many owners to not drive it spiritedly for long. The Maserati Grancabrio is about driving pleasure and certainly not extracting a high fuel mileage.

The Maserati Grancabrio is not just about performance. Safety has been taken seriously. It is built on a rigid platform designed to maintain strength even without a fixed roof. Multiple airbags come as standard. The car also offers advanced driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera. However, in case you need to have a vehicle that offers a good mix of performance, style and practicality, the Grancabrio makes a strong case. While the car is fast, it’s not a hardcore performance car. The best part is that it gives you open-top freedom while still seating four people.

True, a Porsche might be more precise on the track while a BMW might be more tech-heavy, but if you value design heritage, emotional sound, and a driving experience that makes every journey feel special, the Maserati Grancabrio can be a great investment.
