Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the next-generation Dzire model this year, and there's a lot of buzz surrounding it. Over time, several test mules have been spotted, giving us exciting glimpses of what’s to come. These sightings have confirmed some features and even sparked speculation about new ones. One of the hottest topics right now is the possibility of a sunroof, along with the introduction of ADAS in this budget-friendly segment. Maruti Suzuki has recently launched a teaser, prominently featuring the phrase "Block your dates" along with the date "4th - 8th November 2024," which is specifically for the media drive. This announcement has confirmed that the next-generation Dzire will be launched in November, with the most anticipated date being November 4th.
Look and dimensions explained
The current Dzire has softer edges and a rounded look, but with the new-gen, we can expect a sportier appearance. The new design will feature a redesigned grille and sharper headlights, along with a revised bonnet that adds to its aggressive look. While the sides may remain similar, there will be some tweaks to the lines to give it a fresher vibe. At the rear, the tail lamps are also expected to be redesigned, making them sharper and sportier.
As for the dimensions, the outgoing model measures 3995 mm in length, 1735 mm in width, and 1515 mm in height (unladen). It has a wheelbase of 2450 mm and offers a boot space of 378 litres. The kerb weight ranges from 880 to 915 kg for the petrol version and 990 to 995 kg for the CNG variant. In the new model, we might see some adjustments, though not across the board, but likely in specific areas.
Anticipated features: Sunroof, 6 airbags, ADAS, and more
The upcoming model is expected to feature a range of exciting elements. It will likely include a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a sporty flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel. Additionally, it is expected to include practical elements like a manual handbrake, rear AC vents, Type A and C charging ports, an air filter, an electric sunroof, a wireless charger, and a stylish dual-tone interior.
On the safety front, it's anticipated to come with six airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, brake Assist, and an engine immobilizer. It will also feature ISOFIX, a 360-degree camera, hill hold assist, and ESP.
Spy shots of a car's interior, believed to be the upcoming Dzire, have surfaced, suggesting the presence of ADAS features. If the spy shots are believed to be true, the Dzire will become the first Maruti Suzuki model in India to offer ADAS features, whuch are also not offered with any of the Dzire's rivals.

Anticipated Pricing

For the next-generation Dzire, you can expect a price increase of a few thousand rupees, making it a bit more expensive than the current model.
Under the hood
The upcoming Dzire is expected to feature a new 1.2-litre Z series petrol engine, delivering 82PS of power and 112Nm of torque. This engine will be available with either a 5-speed MT or AMT. Additionally, there's talk of a CNG engine option that will produce 69PS and 102Nm of torque, which will come only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
