2025 Citroen Basalt X bookings open

Citroen has started accepting pre-bookings for the upcoming Basalt X in India for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Interested buyers can reserve the SUV either through Citroen dealerships or via the brand’s official website. While the carmaker has yet to reveal full details, the Basalt X is expected to follow the formula of the recently launched C3 X with cosmetic enhancements and additional equipment.

2025 Citroen Basalt X interior teased 

Citroen has released teaser images that give a glimpse of the Basalt X’s cabin. The SUV is likely to sport a refreshed dashboard design featuring a new pattern imprint and bronze accents around the AC vents. A new black-and-tan dual-tone upholstery has also been previewed, adding a premium touch to the interiors.

2025 Citroen Basalt X new features 

Just like the C3 X, the Basalt X is expected to become the flagship trim in the Basalt line-up. Along with new cosmetic details, it could also receive added convenience features and fresh colour choices. The C3 X, for instance, introduced keyless entry, push-button start/stop, an optional 360-degree camera and a new Garnet Red exterior paint, which could hint at similar upgrades for the Basalt X.

No mechanical changes

Under the hood, the Basalt X will continue with the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 110hp. The torque figures remain unchanged—190Nm with the manual transmission and 205Nm with the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

2025 Citroen Basalt X expected price

With the added equipment and cosmetic revisions, the Basalt X is likely to command a premium of Rs 10,000 – Rs 25,000 over the existing top-spec trim. Currently, the Citroen Basalt X price ranges between Rs 8.32 lakh and Rs 14.10 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. Citroen is likely to announce the 2025 Basalt X price in early September 2025.
