In order to combat struggling sales, Citroen India has launched the Basalt X — a more feature-packed variant line for the coupe SUV. 2025 Citroen Basalt X price and variants
The Citroen Basalt X comes in three variants — You, Plus and Max. The 2025 Citroen Basalt X prices start from Rs 7.95 lakh and 12.90 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. It is worth mentioning that these prices are adjusted to the recently-announced GST on mid-sized vehicles, which attracts a flat 40% GST. 2025 Citroen Basalt X feature updates
While there is no perceptible change on the outside of the new Basalt X—except for the new X badging—the interior gets a major overhaul. Starting with the design updates, the new Basalt X features a new dashboard layout with use of richer soft-touch materials. The seats also come wrapped in a new tan leatherette upholstery.
Coming to the features, the 2025 Citroen Basalt X features include engine start/stop button, optional surround view camera, ventilated front seats, cruise control, floating-type instrument cluster and an auto-dimming IRVM. The Basalt continues with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay but now also bundles a smart assistant for crucial functions.
2025 Citroen Basalt X powertrain options
Under the hood, the Basalt X continues with the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 110PS. The torque figures remain unchanged—190Nm with the manual transmission and 205Nm with the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Lower variants continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 82PS of power and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only.

2025 Citroen Basalt X bookings and deliveries
The 2025 Citroen Basalt X bookings are already underway across Citroen India website and dealerships. Interested buyers will be able to check and test drive the Basalt X towards the end of September 2025 whereas the new Basalt X deliveries will begin around the upcoming festive season.
