2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Mild Hybrid revealed — Top 5 things to know

Toyota has been putting its 48V mild-hybrid system on its diesel SUVs lately, with the Toyota Hilux in the UK to the Fortuner and Legender in India. The same system has now made its way on board the Land Cruiser Prado. Here are five things to know about the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Mild Hybrid.
Powertrain details
The 48V mild-hybrid system has been mated to a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The combined system output stands at 204PS of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque.
Same powertrain as the India-spec Fortuner

The India-spec Toyota Fortuner Diesel-neoDrive gets the same powertrain as that of the Land Cruiser Prado that we spoke of above. The Hilux also got the mild-hybrid setup in the UK, and might soon make its way to India as well.

Exterior details
The current-gen Land Cruiser Prado gets a boxy shape with a grid-like pattern on the front grille, almost-rectangular headlights and tail lights, large chunky wheels, and squared-off wheel arches. It gets a water wading capacity of 700 millimetres.
Interior and features

The interior follows a similar rectangular and edgy design language. Key Land Cruiser Prado features include heated and ventilated front seats, a dual-screen setup on the dashboard for instrumentation and infotainment, cooled centre console, dual-zone climate control, and more.

India launch timeline
The current-generation of the Land Cruiser Prado is expected to be launched in the second half of 2025, and it is likely to come with the 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The exact Land Cruiser Prado India launch date is yet to be revealed by the carmaker.
