2026 Kia Syros launched in India — Fresher looks, lower price, more variants
- 12026 Kia Syros prices now start at Rs 8.40 lakh (ex-showroom)
- 2Four new variants added: HTE, HTE (O), HTK+ (O) and HTX (O)
- 3Diesel automatic now available from HTK+ trim (down from HTX+)
Kia India launched the Syros in early 2025 and it quickly became one of the most talked-about sub-4 metre SUVs in the country. Its unique styling and loaded feature list made it stand out in a very crowded space. Now barely a year later Kia has updated it for the 2026 model year and the changes are more than just cosmetic. There are new variants, lower prices at the entry level and a fresh look that makes it feel like a new generation product.
Here is a full breakdown of what has changed, what is new and what has stayed exactly the same.
What is new in the 2026 Kia Syros design

The 2026 Kia Syros does not get a full redesign, but the exterior updates make it look noticeably fresher. Changes are mainly at the front, rear, and key details. Up front, there is a new bumper with added LED fog lights and body-coloured aero inserts instead of the older plastic finish. The rear bumper is also new and now includes a high-mounted LED stop lamp for a cleaner design.
It now gets 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, along with neon green brake callipers, a segment-first. The skid plates, ORVMs, and roof rails now come in a gloss black finish, while the side body garnish is body-coloured.
Kia has also added three new colours for MY26: Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, and Ivory Silver Gloss, while existing colours continue. The overall design, including the tiger face, Star Map LED DRLs, split headlamps, and dimensions, remains unchanged. It still measures under 4 metres and retains its tall-boy stance.
2026 Kia Syros features and safety — what is retained and what is new
This is where the 2026 Kia Syros stays very strong. Kia has not stripped out any of the headline features that made the car popular in the first place. All of the big-ticket features are carried forward.
Retained features (unchanged):
- 30-inch Trinity panoramic display (three-screen setup combining instrument cluster and infotainment)
- Panoramic sunroof
- Front and rear ventilated seats
- Rear sliding and reclining seats
- 80+ connected car features
- Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
- Six airbags (on higher trims)
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Bose premium sound system (on higher trims)
- Electric parking brake with auto hold
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
The safety and feature set of the Syros was already class-leading and Kia has wisely not touched any of it. Buyers who were drawn to the Syros for its features will find everything they expected still very much intact.
Engine options — what is available in 2026 Kia Syros

No changes have been made to the powertrain lineup. The MY26 Kia Syros continues with the same engines as before. It comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, available with a 6-speed manual (MT) or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (7DCT). The 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is offered with a 6-speed manual (6MT) or a 6-speed torque converter automatic (6AT).
While the engines themselves are unchanged Kia has made the diesel automatic significantly more accessible. Earlier the diesel 6AT was only available from the HTX+ trim. Now it starts from the HTK+ trim at Rs 12.74 lakh. The 2026 Kia Syros remains the only sub-4 metre SUV in India to offer a diesel automatic option.
2026 Kia Syros variant lineup and prices
The variant structure has been significantly expanded for MY26. Four new trims have been introduced: HTE, HTE (O), HTK+ (O) and HTX (O). The older base trim HTK appears to have been removed and the top-end HTX+ and HTX+ (O) trims also seem to have been discontinued. The new lineup runs from HTE at the bottom to HTX (O) at the top.
