The leaked images of the 2026 Toyota Hilux give us a sneak peek into the updates that the new Hilux is set to bring to the market. Starting off with the key design changes, the leaked images reveal the sharp front end of the pick-up truck, featuring sleek LED headlights accompanied by a larger radiator grille, which is more rectangular than before. The front bumper of the new Hilux features sharp contouring and creases, accentuating its rugged appeal.

Around the side, the leaked pictures reveal the twin cab layout along with a metal guardrail over the flatbed. The side profile remains more or less the same as the current Hilux, featuring thick body cladding, machined dual-tone alloy wheels and Hilux badging on the front doors. Around the rear, the 2026 Hilux could feature a redesigned branding for the tail gate along with reprofiled bumpers.

Like in the case of the new-gen Toyota Camry, the Hilux is also likely to retain its strong underpinnings, making it a mid-lifecycle makeover rather than an all-new generation, even if Toyota decides to call it the latter. In all likelihood, the new 2026 Hilux will retain its ladder-frame underpinnings that come coupled with a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine and 4WD. The 2.8-litre diesel engine also comes with the mild-hybrid tech, boosting its fuel efficiency and cutting down emissions.
