As per a comprehensive sales report released by Auto Punditz, diesels accounted for the majority of all Mahindra SUV sales in India. The split came out to be 77.1% for diesel, 20.5% for petrol, and 2.3% for electric vehicles. Here are more details about the Mahindra 2025 sales data, including model-wise fuel mix figures.

Mahindra Thar Roxx

 

As inferred from the table above, the majority of Scorpios, XUV700s, Thar 3-doors, and Thar Roxxes were diesel units. The Bolero and Marazzo are only available with diesel engines. The only exception for ICE vehicles was the XUV 3XO, which sold more petrol variants than diesel ones.

Out of the 5,51,487 units sold by Mahindra in the last financial year, 4,25,329 were diesel vehicles, and 1,13,268 were petrol vehicles. The carmaker sold 12,890 EVs during the same period, which accounted for 2.3% of the brand’s total sales.

Upcoming Mahindra hybrid SUVs in India

Recent media reports suggest that Mahindra is planning to soon introduce hybrid vehicles to its model lineup in the near future, which will be based on both ICE and EVs. ICE SUVs are likely to get series parallel setups, starting with the Mahindra XUV 3XO hybrid. Electric SUVs are likely to get range extender systems instead.
