JSW MG Motor India has made its way among the top ten carmakers in India, with a market share of 1.78% in September 2025. More than half of the MG sales in India are brought in by just one model — the MG Windsor EV. Here’s a list of the best selling MG cars in India over the last six months, including the latest data for September 2025.

The Windsor has been a winner-product for the carmaker, with it being not just MG’s but India’s best selling EV for a while now. MG sold 24,958 units of the car over the last six months, averaging at about 4,159 units a month. MG has introduced another variant to the Windsor lineup, which comes with a bigger battery pack that promises a range of 449 kilometres per charge.

The British-Chinese carmaker has been able to sell 5,098 units of the Comet over the last six months, averaging at exactly 849 units per month, overtaking the ZS EV. The Comet sits in a unique position with practically no direct competition.

 

MG Hector

MG’s compact SUV, the Hector, came to be its third-highest-selling car in India. The MG Hector sales were just about a fifth of those of the Windsor, averaging at around 699 units monthly. It comes with the option of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV has been pushed to the fourth spot, with 2,986 units sold over the last six months. This translates into an average of about 497 units a month. The ZS EV is basically an electric version of the MG Astor compact SUV.

Among MG’s lineup, the Astor stood out as one of the brand’s lowest-selling models, recording just 600 units over the past six months. This translates to an average of around 100 units per month, reflecting its relatively modest demand in the compact SUV segment.


MG Gloster

 

MG Gloster

 

MG’s flagship full-size SUV, the Gloster, has seen a rather subdued performance over the past six months, recording just 105 units in total sales, averaging around 17 units per month. Despite its premium positioning, the model continues to face limited traction in its segment.
