Outline

Citroen has launched the facelifted eC3X in India with two purchase options aimed at different buyer preferences. The electric crossover is priced from Rs 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for buyers who want to purchase the vehicle outright.

Citroen is also offering a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option, which lowers the starting price to Rs 6.89 lakh. Under this scheme, battery usage is charged separately at Rs 2.26 per kilometre. This gives buyers the choice between full vehicle ownership and a usage-based battery model, depending on their budget and ownership preferences.

New Citroen eC3X battery-as-a-service

The battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option for the new Citroen eC3X is designed to reduce the upfront cost of buying an electric vehicle. Instead of paying for the battery as part of the purchase price, owners pay a usage charge of Rs 2.26 per kilometre. For example, driving 300 kilometres would result in a battery cost of about Rs 678.

The BaaS model also helps address concerns around battery ageing and replacement costs. Since Citroen retains responsibility for the battery, owners do not have to worry about future battery replacement expenses. Instead, they pay based on usage, making running costs easier to estimate and manage.

2026 Citroen eC3X exterior & colour options

The Citroen eC3X gets LED projector headlamps with split LED DRLs, giving it a more distinctive look while improving visibility. The update also includes LED fog lamps and contrasting skid plates at the front and rear, adding to its SUV-inspired styling. The Citroen eC3X is available in six exterior colours: Polar White, Steel Grey, Cosmo Blue, Perla Nera Black, Garnet Red, and Deep Forest Green.

Citroen eC3X interior updates

The Citroen eC3X gets a new white and blue dual-tone interior theme, replacing the earlier all-black cabin. The updated colour scheme gives the interior a brighter look, while blue accents add contrast across key areas of the dashboard and upholstery.

The overall dashboard layout remains unchanged, but Citroen has updated the materials and trim finishes. The Citroen eC3X also receives a new 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, offering improved display quality and clearer driver information. These updates give the cabin a fresher look compared to the previous model. It eC3X also comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system handles navigation, media, vehicle settings, and other key functions through a single interface.

Other features include a wireless phone charger and Citroen Connected Car Technology 2.0, which allows owners to monitor and control certain vehicle functions through a smartphone app. Users can check battery status, schedule charging sessions, and access remote vehicle functions. Buyers can also choose optional features such as a dual dashcam setup and a JBL audio system.

Powertrain preservation supporting proven efficiency

The Citroen eC3X continues with the same 29.2 kWh battery pack and single electric motor producing 56 bhp and 143 Nm of torque. The claimed driving range remains 320 km on a full charge. The battery supports DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 57 minutes. With its 320 km range and fast-charging capability, the Citroen eC3X is designed for daily city use as well as occasional longer trips.

Rivals

The Citroen eC3X is positioned in the sub-Rs 12 lakh electric vehicle segment, where it competes with models such as the Tata Punch EV and MG Comet EV. Its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option lowers the initial purchase cost, making the Citroen eC3X more accessible to buyers looking to switch to an EV with a smaller upfront investment.
