Fastag annual pass price details out – Rs 15/trip
- 1Yearly Fastag pass to be made available from August 15
- 2Yearly pass valid for up to 200 rides
- 3To reduce congession on toll plazas and frequent stops
In a landmark move to streamline toll payments and improve travel efficiency on national highways, the Government of India will introduce a new Fastag-based annual pass for private vehicles starting August 15, 2025, as announced by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Yearly Fastag pass details
The initiative will allow owners of non-commercial private vehicles—including cars, jeeps, and vans—to purchase an annual toll pass priced at Rs 3,000. The pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or for up to 200 journeys, whichever comes first. Taking the yearly subscription cost and the cap of 200 rides, the per ride cost comes out to be Rs 15, which is considerably cheaper than the current average toll prices.

“This pass is specially designed for private vehicle owners and will enable seamless travel across National Highways without the need for recurring toll deductions,” Gadkari said via a post on X.

How to get a yearly Fastag pass?
According to the announcement, a dedicated link for activation and renewal of the pass will be launched soon on both the Highway Travel App and the official National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) website. The government aims to simplify the process with a single transaction for the entire year, eliminating the hassle of topping up Fastag balances after each journey.
Benefits of new Fastag pass
This policy seeks to address long-standing complaints regarding frequent toll plazas within short distances (under 60 km) and aims to reduce congestion, travel time, and disputes at toll booths. “The Annual Pass policy is committed to providing faster, smoother, and better travel experiences to millions of private vehicle drivers,” the minister added.
