The Tata Harrier EV is the latest entrant to the EV market, and also the fastest one, with a claimed 0-100kmph time of just 6.3 seconds. It gets the option of both RWD and AWD powertrains, and is now the Indian carmaker’s flagship SUV on sale.
Mahindra BE 6
Claimed 0-100kmph time: 6.7 seconds
Price in India: Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 26.90 lakh
Mahindra claims a 0-100kmph time of just 6.7 seconds for the BE 6, the more affordable of its two electric SUVs in India. The BE 6 recently got the option of the larger 79kWh battery pack from the mid-spec Pack Two trim.

Mahindra XEV 9e
Claimed 0-100kmph time: 6.8 seconds
Price in India: Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 30.50 lakh
Mahindra’s other electric SUV currently on sale, the XEV 9e, also gets an impressive claimed time of 6.8 seconds. It gets the same powertrain options as the BE 6, and is larger than the latter.
BYD Atto 3
Claimed 0-100kmph time: 7.3 seconds
Price in India: Rs 24.99 lakh to Rs 33.99 lakh
One of the less talked about cars in this segment, the BYD Atto 3 also claims a quick acceleration time of 7.3 seconds. It was the first car to be launched by the Chinese carmaker in India.

Hyundai Creta Electric
Claimed 0-100kmph time: 7.9 seconds
Price in India: Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 24.37 lakh
Hyundai’s first mass market EV, the Creta Electric, makes it to the fifth spot in this list, claiming a 0-100kmph acceleration time of 7.9 seconds. The upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV is likely to share its powertrains with the Creta EV.
