Outline

Following the recent wave of reports hinting at the launch of a new Mahindra Scorpio N variant, things have just gotten a whole lot more exciting — Mahindra has now dropped an official teaser featuring the bold tagline: “Power always stays on course.” This teaser pretty much adds fuel to the fire and hints strongly at what everyone’s been expecting — the updated Scorpio N could finally be on its way.

Apart from this, new details have also been leaked about an upcoming trim—it will be called the Mahindra Scorpio N Z8T. It will sit between the Z8 and Z8L variants, filling a crucial spot in the lineup. What makes these updates even more interesting is that, besides the new variant, the existing Scorpio N Z8L will also be updated with fresh features. Let’s dive deeper into the Mahindra Scorpio’s new variant and see what exciting upgrades are coming your way.

Mahindra Scorpio N new variant to get a major feature upgrade

According to leaked reports, the new Mahindra Scorpio N Z8T variant will come with an electronic parking brake and auto hold. Along with this, the Scorpio N Z8T feature list will also include 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a front camera, front parking sensors, ventilated seats, a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 12 speakers, a frameless auto-dimming IRVM, a 65W Type-C charger in the second row, and more.

Adding to the appeal, the highly sought-after panoramic sunroof is expected to be part of this new Scorpio N variant’s feature list as well.

Updated Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 L to feature level 2 ADAS

Apart from the features I talked about earlier, the updated Mahindra Scorpio N Z8L will now come equipped with Level 2 ADAS features. While siblings like the Mahindra XUV3XO and XUV700 already come with this advanced driver assistance suite, the Scorpio N has so far missed out—especially surprising given the current trend that focuses not just on tech-savvy features, but also on cutting-edge safety suite.

The new Mahindra Scorpio N Z8L variant is anticipated to offer a comprehensive ADAS package, featuring 12 smart functions including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking for vehicles and pedestrians, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go (available in the AT variant), smart pilot assist (AT only), lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, speed limit assist, high beam assist, and front vehicle start alert.

As far as the powertrain goes, the new Mahindra Scorpio N variant is likely to stick with the reliable 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. The petrol unit delivers 203PS of power and 370Nm of torque, while the diesel churns out 175PS and 370Nm of torque.

Both engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission. Additionally, the new Scorpio N variant is likely to be available with a 4WD option like before.
