Hyundai Motor India has opened bookings for the Bayon, its upcoming midsize SUV, ahead of its expected launch in October 2026. Customers can book the SUV for Rs 11,000 through Hyundai's official website or at any authorised dealership in India. The Bayon is expected to launch during the festive season.
Hyundai Bayon's design & size
The Hyundai Bayon gets a modern SUV design with a wide stance and sharp styling elements. The front features a Sculpted Bonnet Design, Futuristic Front Fascia and Hyundai's Signature H-Edge LED DRLs, while the Geometric Wheel Arches, Wrap-around Door Cladding and Bridge-Type Roof Rails add to its SUV look. Measuring 4.2 metres in length, the Bayon is also designed to offer good legroom, headroom and shoulder room for occupants.
Hyundai Bayon safety features
The Hyundai Bayon follows the brand's “Intelligence That Moves” philosophy, combining connected technology with safety features. Its SAFETY ON package is based on the Global K Enhanced Platform, which Hyundai says has been engineered to meet 5-star Indian safety standards based on its internal assessment. Hyundai says the Bayon also gets several safety features focused on occupant protection and structural strength, along with advanced safety technology.
Hyundai Bayon powertrain and transmission options
Hyundai has not yet revealed the full powertrain details of the Bayon. However, it is expected to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 114hp and 144Nm. The engine is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual or a CVT-based Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected. If launched, it would be the first Hyundai SUV over 4 metres in length to get a CNG option in India. Reports suggest the CNG tank could be placed under the body instead of inside the boot, helping retain luggage space.
How to book the Hyundai Bayon
Customers can book the Hyundai Bayon through Hyundai's official website, hyundai.co.in, or at an authorised Hyundai dealership for Rs 11,000. Hyundai has applied for the vehicle's type approval certificate. The exact delivery timeline will be announced at the time of launch, which is planned for the festive season.
