Hyundai sales May 2025 — The fall continues!

Things haven’t been going very well for the South Korean carmaker, and the month of May was no different, with negative month-on-month as well as year-on-year growth. Here’s an analysis of the Hyundai car sales in May 2025 in India, with both month-on-month and year-on-year comparisons.

MoM and YoY analysis

After a month of positive growth, sales declined for HMIL in May 2025, when compared to the numbers from April 2025. This was true for both domestic and international sales, with the former falling by 1.2%, and the latter by 9.5%. Year-on-year sales took a bigger hit, with a net fall of 7.6%. Exports grew by a slight margin, but domestic sales saw a steep decline.

Upcoming Hyundai cars in India

Hyundai recently announced aggressive expansion plans for the Indian market, promising launch of 26 new vehicles over the next five years. This would include new models, generational updates, facelifts, as well as model year updates. 20 of these cars and SUVs would be ICE-powered, while the remaining 6 would be electric.
