Kia India has unveiled the Syros EV and opened pre-bookings at a token amount of Rs 25,000 through its official website and authorised dealerships. It's the second mass-market electric vehicle after the EV6 and EV9 in the premium space. Built on the same K1 platform as the standard Syros, the electric SUV is designed to tackle common EV concerns such as driving range, charging convenience, battery life, and long-term ownership.
Kia Syros EV exterior & design

The Syros EV builds on the bold, upright stance of the standard Syros but adds EV-specific styling cues. These include Kia's Signature Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps, standard front LED fog lamps, and Star Map LED daytime running lamps with integrated turn indicators at the front, along with matching Star Map LED tail lamps at the rear.
It also gets Black high-gloss front and rear skid plates with aero inserts and roof rails. The new Syros EV also gets first-in-segment auto streamline door handles and a choice of 17-inch crystal-cut dual-tone aero alloy wheels, with a 16-inch wheel option also available.
2026 Kia Syros EV interior, technology and more

Inside, the Kia Syros EV features a first-in-segment 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 5-inch climate control display. It also gets Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connected features, over-the-air updates, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
The cabin offers a spacious layout with sliding and reclining 60:40 split rear seats, ventilated front seats, and ventilated rear seat cushions. Other features include a 4-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, a dual-camera dashcam, rear sunshades, multiple USB Type-C charging ports with a 100W front charger, and a 16-litre front trunk (frunk).
Kia Syros EV colour options
The Kia Syros EV is available in nine exterior colours: Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl, and Xclusive Matte Graphite, which is exclusive to the X-Line ER variant. Inside, it is available in three interior themes: Cloud Blue & Grey, Onyx Black & Off-White, and Onyx Black & Hunter Green, the latter being exclusive to the X-Line ER trim.
Kia Syros EV safety equipment
The Syros EV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS featuring what Kia calls a segment-best 16 autonomous functions. These include Front Collision-Avoidance Assist covering cars, pedestrians, cyclists, junction-turning scenarios and direct oncoming traffic, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Lane Keeping and Lane Following Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. Parking assistance comes via a 360-degree camera, a Blind View Monitor integrated into the instrument cluster, and Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist for reverse manoeuvres, supported by front, rear and side parking sensors.

Beyond the ADAS suite, the EV includes 25 standard Hi-Safety features, among them six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist Control, Brake Assist System, a high-line Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, Rear Occupant Alert, all-wheel disc brakes, and an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold.
Kia Syros EV Range and battery options
The Kia Syros EV is available with two battery pack options. The standard variant gets a 42 kWh battery with a claimed MIDC range of 443 km, while the Extended Range version uses a 51.4 kWh battery and offers a claimed range of 526 km (MIDC). Kia says it is the first SUV in its segment to cross the 500 km mark. The larger battery also produces 171PS and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.
Both battery packs use Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) chemistry and are housed in an IP67-rated enclosure with a liquid-cooled thermal management system. Built on Kia's reinforced K1 platform, the setup is designed to deliver reliable performance across varying weather conditions.
Performance and charging
On the charging front, the Kia Syros EV supports DC fast charging that takes the battery from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes using a 100 kW charger, a figure Kia is positioning as segment-best. A Battery Conditioning feature is also included, which optimises battery temperature ahead of DC charging sessions to help maintain consistent charging speeds. For home and destination charging, the Syros EV supports a 10.8 kW onboard AC charging capacity.
2026 Kia Syros EV Ownership package: warranty, buyback and financing

A central part of the Syros EV's pitch is its ownership package. It includes a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, which covers the battery for up to 15 years under the programme's terms and conditions.
Buyers also get an Assured Buyback programme to support resale value and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, allowing the battery cost to be financed separately to reduce the initial purchase price. Together, these benefits are aimed at addressing concerns around battery life, resale value, and the upfront cost of owning an EV.
Kia Syros EV charging infrastructure — The K-Charge ecosystem
Kia is also offering its K-Charge ecosystem with the Syros EV. Accessible through the MyKia app, it provides access to more than 20,300 charging points across 23 charge point operators through a single platform. Owners can locate chargers, navigate to them, and make payments using one integrated wallet. Kia also supports the Syros EV with over 129 dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers and more than 275 EV-ready workshops across India.
Kia Syros EV variants
The Syros EV will be offered in seven trims spread across the two battery options. The 42 kWh lineup includes the HTK, HTK+ and HTX trims, while the 51.4 kWh Extended Range lineup includes the HTK+ ER, HTX ER, HTX+ ER and X-Line ER trims.
