Mahindra SUV prices in India slashed by up to Rs 1.56 lakh — GST revision

Following the announcement to slash GST rates on cars and SUVs in India, Mahindra Auto has put out a press release outlining the benefits across its model range. The revised prices shall be put into effect from September 22, 2025. Here’s more information about the latest Mahindra price cut after the GST revision.

Please note that the amounts mentioned in the table above are the maximum price cuts for the respective models, and shall vary from variant-to-variant. Moreover, Mahindra has put the new prices into effect from September 6, 2025, ahead of the September 22 date announced by the Government.

New car GST rates 2025

The erstwhile 28% GST on small cars has been brought down to 18%, reducing the tax by 10%. This deduction is valid on cars measuring under 4,000mm in length, with engine capacity lower than 1,200cc for petrol and 1,500cc for diesel. For cars measuring over 4,000mm in length, the GST imposed earlier stood at 28%, with an additional cess of 22%, depending on the engine capacity, with the effective tax coming out to be as high as 50%. Such cars with engine capacity exceeding 1,500cc now come under a flat 40% tax slab. The GST on EVs remains unchanged at 5%.
