Mahindra has now extended its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan to the XEV 9S, its three-row electric SUV. Prices under the BaaS plan start at Rs 12.65 lakh. The plan lets buyers pay for the car and battery separately, reducing the upfront cost. The XEV 9S is the second Mahindra EV to get this option after the BE 6 Sporteq.

Under BaaS, the Mahindra XEV 9S prices start at Rs 12.65 lakh for the One Above variant. Interestingly, this price stays the same with both the 59kWh and 79kWh battery options. The Two Above is offered with 70kWh and 79kWh batteries, priced at Rs 16.05 lakh and Rs 15.95 lakh, respectively. The Three variant with the 79kWh battery costs Rs 17.85 lakh, while the top-spec Three Above is priced at Rs 19.95 lakh.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is available in both 6- and 7-seat layouts, with prices and battery options varying by variant. The 6-seat layout is offered on the Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above trims, while the 7-seat version starts with the Pack One Above.

 

For the 7-seat version, prices start at Rs 20.65 lakh for the Pack One Above with the 59kWh battery. The 79kWh version costs Rs 22.65 lakh. The Pack Two Above is priced at Rs 25.05 lakh with the 70kWh battery and Rs 25.95 lakh with the 79kWh battery. The Pack Three and Pack Three Above, both with the 79kWh battery, cost Rs 27.85 lakh and Rs 29.95 lakh, respectively.

The 6-seat version starts at Rs 25.25 lakh for the Pack Two Above with the 70kWh battery. Its 79kWh version costs Rs 26.15 lakh, while the Pack Three and Pack Three Above are priced at Rs 28.05 lakh and Rs 30.15 lakh, respectively.

 

The 11.2kW AC charger is optional and costs Rs 75,000 extra. With the charger, the 7-seat version goes up to Rs 30.70 lakh, while the 6-seat version tops out at Rs 30.90 lakh, both ex-showroom.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery options, depending on the variant. Motor power ranges from 170kW to 210kW, while maximum torque stands at 380Nm. It gets a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup, along with adjustable regenerative braking levels and single-pedal driving. The available drive modes include Default, Range, Everyday, Race and Snow.

 

The claimed MIDC range varies by battery and variant. The 59kWh version offers up to 521km, while the 70kWh battery can deliver up to 679km. The 79kWh versions also have a claimed range of 679km.
