The Maruti Ciaz adult occupant protection tests evaluated how well the car performs in various accident scenarios. According to the report, in a frontal crash, both driver and passenger had good head and neck protection. The driver’s chest was only somewhat protected, while the passenger’s chest was better. The driver’s knees were at risk of hitting dangerous parts but the passenger’s knees were safe.

The driver’s lower legs were fairly protected, and the passenger’s were well protected. The footwell and body structure were weak. In side crashes, head and hips were well protected, belly was okay, and chest was weak. Side pole testing wasn’t done because side head protection wasn’t available. ESC and seatbelt reminders are standard.

The Maruti Ciaz got a 3-star rating for child occupant protection. This is not the highest, but it is better than the adult protection score. In frontal crashes, the rearward-facing seat for the 3-year-old, installed with ISOFIX and a support leg, fully protected the head. The seat for the 18-month-old, also rearward-facing with ISOFIX and a support leg, gave full head protection too.
In side impacts, both seats offered complete protection. The car does not have 3-point seat belts in all positions. It has warnings about placing a rearward-facing seat in the front, but the passenger airbag cannot be turned off. The rear centre seat could not securely fit a child seat.
