- 2Test mule reveals a blanked-off grille, split LED lighting & olive green exterior
- 3Likely to be powered by a 69.2kWh LFP battery
JSW MG's upcoming Hector Tomahawk has been spotted testing on Indian roads without any camouflage. An Instagram user recorded the SUV and shared the video online, showing the SUV in an olive green exterior shade.
The sighting comes just days ahead of its scheduled August 26 launch and gives the clearest look yet at the production version. The Hector Tomahawk will also be the first MG model in India to use the company's new ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. It said to sit above the standard Hector in MG's lineup.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV: what the spy shots reveal
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV test mule gives a clear look at its front and side design. It gets a closed-off front, confirming its EV setup. A green Gujarat registration plate is placed in the centre of the lower bumper, while the MG logo sits on a slim black strip between the headlights.

The headlights are slim and stretch across the front, with multiple LED elements inside. Separate black sections below the headlights have a sharp, inverted-thumb-like design. The bonnet is broad and mostly flat with subtle creases leading towards the headlights. The lower bumper gets a wide black section with a patterned air intake and angular details on the sides.
The test car is finished in olive green with a black roof and roof rails. The side gets chrome door handles, a chrome window line and black cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors. Large dual-tone alloy wheels complete the look. The rear was not visible in the latest sighting. Earlier teasers suggest it could get wraparound tail-lamps and a dual-tone bumper.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV dimensions
The Hector Tomahawk is based on the Wuling Eksion sold in Indonesia. It is expected to have similar dimensions, measuring 4,745mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,755mm tall, with a 2,810mm wheelbase.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV cabin and expected features
MG has already teased a beige-themed cabin. The full dashboard has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to have a simple layout. It could get separate screens for the digital driver's display and infotainment system, a two-spoke steering wheel and a centre console with cupholders and storage.

MG has not confirmed the full feature list yet. Expected features include a 12.8-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital driver's display, wireless charger, powered tailgate, leatherette seats, powered and ventilated front seats and multiple speakers. Other expected features include AC vents for the second and third rows, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, IRVM, electrically adjustable ORVMs and a 360-degree camera. Safety features could include parking sensor, cruise control, TPMS, EBD, ABS, VSM, six airbags and Level 2 ADAS, among others.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV expected powertrain and range
MG has not yet confirmed the Hector Tomahawk EV's powertrain details. However, the Wuling Eksion, on which it is based, gives us an idea of what to expect. The Eksion uses a 69.2kWh LFP battery with a claimed CLTC range of up to 530km. Its front-mounted electric motor produces 201hp and 310Nm, with a top speed of 160kmph.

If the Hector Tomahawk gets similar specifications, it could offer a good range for its segment. However, the final India-spec figures will be confirmed only at launch.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV expected price and rivals
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it will compete with the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV.
MG has confirmed that the Hector Tomahawk will launch as an electric SUV first. A plug-in hybrid version is expected to arrive later. The SUV will be officially unveiled on 26 August, when MG is expected to reveal its full specifications, features and pricing.
