Nissan Tekton to be revealed soon — Date and key details inside
- 1Nissan Tekton takes design inspiration from the legendary Nissan Patrol
- 2Tekton will be built on the same CMF-B platform as the next gen Renault Duster
- 3Likely to launch after the Nissan Gravite
Nissan Tekton will be the fourth model in Nissan’s lineup, positioned after the Nissan Gravite. The launch follows the same sequence. Gravite arrives first, and Tekton steps in next.
The moment Tekton enters the market, it will face serious competition. This segment leaves no room for hesitation. Rivals include the new Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and the upcoming Renault Duster, with several others already in the fight.
For Nissan, this is a crucial move. Tekton must deliver where it counts from design and features to pricing and road presence.
Scroll on for the latest updates on Nissan Tekton. From the unveil timeline and expected launch to what it is likely to offer and where it fits in this crowded SUV space.
Nissan Tekton design

The Nissan Tekton is built on the CMF-B platform, shared with the upcoming Renault Duster. Its name, “Tekton,” comes from Greek, meaning “craftsman” or “architect.”
The design takes cues from the Patrol, with a sculpted bonnet, C-shaped headlamps, and a bold lower bumper. From the side, the Tekton has a muscular stance. The front doors feature a ‘Double-C’ accent, subtly referencing a mountain range inspired by the Himalayas.
At the rear, a red illuminated light bar spans the width of the vehicle, connecting the C-shaped tail lamps. The Tekton nameplate sits prominently across the tailgate, just below the light bar.
upcoming Nissan Tekton engine options
Nissan India has confirmed there won’t be diesel engines in upcoming models including Tekton SUV. Diesel is losing popularity in India. Nissan seems to be playing it safe with petrol instead.
Tekton is expected with multiple petrol options. The base model will likely get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, while higher trims could offer turbo-petrol engines, probably a 1.0-litre and a more powerful 1.3-litre. Both manual and automatic gearboxes should be on the table.

There is also talk of a hybrid version in the future. It may not appear at launch, but Nissan is considering a strong hybrid setup by 2027, similar to 1.6-litre system used in Duster overseas. This strategy positions the Tekton competitively against other compact SUVs. By offering petrol, turbo-petrol, and eventually hybrid options, Nissan can capture its buyers nicely.
Nissan Tekton unveil date revealed
Nissan Tekton will be unveiled globally on February 4. The Nissan Gravite, on the other hand, will be revealed on January 21, with showroom deliveries starting in March. Since the brand will be focusing on the Gravite launch first, the Tekton launch is expected to take a few months. Buyers should be prepared for a short wait before the Tekton becomes available in showrooms.
