Second-gen Honda Amaze VX discontinued — Single variant on sale

Following the tradition of keeping two generations of models on sale alongside, Honda Cars India decided to keep the Amaze on sale after the launch of the third-gen model. The second-gen Honda Amaze was available in two variants — S and VX. However, Honda cars India recently pulled the plug on the top-spec Amaze VX variant, leaving the ageing compact sedan with a single variant. Second-gen Honda Amaze variant lineup shrinks

Honda Cars India has silently pulled the plug on the top-spec VX variant of the second-gen Amaze, thereby further widening the gap between the second-gen and third-gen Honda Amaze. As a result, the Honda Amaze is available in the S variant only, with prices starting from Rs 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The sedan is available in a total of five exterior colour options and two powertrain options.

Second-gen Honda Amaze features

The second-gen Honda Amaze S variant comes equipped with exterior features such as halogen headlights, LED tail lights, steel wheels with wheel covers, integrated turn indicators on the ORVMs and a shark-fin antenna. On the inside, the Amaze S variant packs a 2-din infotainment system, steering mounted controls, four speakers, manual air conditioning, front and rear power windows and power-adjustable outside rear view mirrors. The Honda Amaze safety features include dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and front seatbelts with pre-tentioners and load limiters.

Second-gen Honda Amaze powertrain details

The Honda Amaze comes with two powertrain options — manual and CVT automatic. Both the transmission options come coupled with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that puts out 90PS of power at 6000rpm and 110Nm of torque at 4800rpm. The Honda Amaze mileage stands at 18.60kmpl and 18.30kmpl for the manual and CVT transmissions respectively. Coming to the Honda Amaze price, the S MT is priced at Rs 7.63 lakh whereas the S CVT is priced at Rs 8.53 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
