Suzuki, the Japanese carmaker, has unveiled the 2026 Maruti Across. The SUV is built on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform and draws heavily from the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid. The Made-in-India Victoris are already being exported to international markets under the rebadged Suzuki Across name.

The 2026 Suzuki Across builds on the model that's already been on international roads, bringing notable updates for this generation. In contrast, the previous Across relied on the older RAV4, the new version steps into the plug-in hybrid segment. It also gets subtle design changes at the front and rear, giving it a refreshed look without losing its familiar identity.

Under the hood, the Across pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a 22.7 kWh battery powering two electric motors. The system drives all four wheels through Suzuki’s e-Four all-wheel-drive setup.

Together, the petrol engine and electric motors deliver a combined output of 306 PS. The SUV can travel up to 75 km on electric power alone, according to the WLTP cycle, making it practical for short trips without using fuel.

Its ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, emergency steering support, lane assist, emergency braking, driver monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system.

As for its powertrain options, it shares them with the Grand Vitara. This includes a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which also comes with the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit, and an engine sourced from Toyota. It also gets the option of AWD configuration, and it happens to be the first Maruti car in India to get an underbody-mounted CNG tank, thereby freeing up space in the boot.
