Tata Motors is gearing up for a major tech upgrade for its flagship electric SUV, the Nexon EV. The company is preparing to introduce Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level 2 in its top-spec Empowered+ A 45 variant, with the launch likely to take place in the coming weeks.
Tata Nexon EV ADAS variant
The upcoming variant, dubbed Empowered+ A 45, will be positioned at the top of the Nexon EV lineup. It will build upon the existing Empowered 45 and Empowered Plus 45 trims, which are currently priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). With the addition of ADAS tech, the new variant is expected to command a premium over its non-ADAS counterparts.

This upgrade will bring a suite of semi-autonomous safety and convenience features aimed at reducing driver fatigue and enhancing safety, especially on highways. The ADAS Level 2 package will include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Keep Assist & Lane Departure Warning
- Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Braking
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- High Beam Assist
These features are expected to make the Nexon EV stand aside the MG WIndsor EV Pro, which was recently launched with a larger battery pack and ADAS features over the standard MG Windsor EV.

Tata Nexon EV 45 specifications
Despite the tech upgrades, the new Empowered+ A 45 will remain mechanically identical to the current model. It will continue to feature a 45kWh battery pack offering a real-world driving range of 350–375 km and a 145PS, 215Nm electric motor. Sources indicate that special edition versions of the Nexon EV, including the Dark Edition and Red Dark Edition, will also be updated with the new ADAS tech. This move could further enhance the appeal of these popular, style-focused variants.
