The Tata Tiago has been around in its current design for a while now. It did get updates at the start of 2025, mostly on the inside. But the exterior, though, stayed mostly the same. That is what now looks set to change. A test mule of the Tiago facelift has been spotted on Indian roads with heavy camouflage. The latest spy shots that have emerged recently give a rough idea of what is coming. Not everything is visible, but there is enough to suggest a noticeable update.

The Tata Tiago facelift launch is expected sometime in the second half of this year. The petrol version is likely to come first with the EV update following later. For now, the test car gives an early look at what Tata might be working on and how the Tiago could evolve from here.

Upcoming Tata Tiago Facelift exterior — What the spy shots reveal

The upcoming Tata Tiago facelift front is where most of the change is visible. The test car shows a slimmer grille that sits more horizontally. It looks different from the wider grille on the current Tiago. The headlamps also seem to have been reshaped and the bumper gets a new design.

From the side, things stay familiar. The silhouette does not change, which means the body shell is the same. What stands out is the new alloy wheel design. At the rear, the update feels more noticeable. Even with camouflage, the tailgate looks reworked. The tail lamps also appear to be new and more modern in design. The bumper looks flatter and more structured now.

The current Tiago has a very recognisable rear design, so this change could shift how the car is perceived. New colour options could also be added alongside the existing shades. New colour options are also expected to be added to the palette, which currently includes Ocean Blue, Arizona Blue, Tornado Blue, Supernova Copper, Pristine White, and Daytona Grey.

2026 Tata Tiago Facelift Interior —  What's inside?

The 2025 Tiago already got a proper update inside last year. It added features like the illuminated steering wheel, digital cluster, larger touchscreen on higher variants, and a cooled glovebox. The facelift is not likely to change that direction. It seems more like a step forward rather than a reset.

Some small changes could still come in. A bigger touchscreen might make its way to mid variants. The 7-inch digital cluster could also be offered more widely across the range. The climate control setup might change too. Tata could move to touch-based controls instead of the current rotary dials, similar to what is seen on the Punch and Nexon. There could also be a slight update to the interior colours. The current theme works well, so any change is likely to be subtle.

Tata Tiago Facelift Features and Safety: The Biggest Expected Jump

The outgoing Tiago comes with 2 airbags as standard, which now feels a bit behind. The update is expected to bring 6 airbags across the range. If that happens, it would be a strong step forward for safety in this segment.

A 360-degree camera is also being talked about. That would be a big addition at this price point. The current reverse camera already does the job well, so this would take things up a notch. Most of the existing features are likely to stay. Things like wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, hill hold, ESC, cruise control, and TPMS should continue.

Some small additions could come in as well. Ambient lighting and a wireless charger are likely candidates. The larger touchscreen and connected tech from the recent update are expected to carry over.

Tata Tiago 2026 engine options — Same core, new turbo possibility

The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is likely to continue as is. It makes 86 PS and 113 Nm, while the CNG version produces 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm. Both manual and AMT gearboxes should carry on.

The dual-cylinder CNG setup is also expected to stay. Since the tanks sit below the luggage area, the boot remains usable. That is still something the Tiago does better than most. A bigger change could come in the form of a turbo petrol engine. A 1.2-litre unit with around 120 PS and 170 Nm is being talked about. This would be similar to what Tata has already done with the Punch.

If that happens, the Tiago could get a more performance-focused option. That would put it in a different space compared to rivals like the Maruti Swift.

Tata Tiago Facelift expected price and rivals

The current Tiago starts at Rs 4.57 lakh and goes up to about Rs 7.90 lakh for the top petrol AMT. With the facelift, prices are expected to move up slightly. A range of around Rs 5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh looks likely, depending on how the new features and engine options are positioned.

In terms of rivals, the Tiago continues to sit against the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The new Swift starts higher, and the Nios is also positioned slightly above the base Tiago. That still gives Tata some room to stay competitive. It also overlaps with cars like the Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Citroen C3. These sit a bit higher in terms of positioning but buyers often cross-shop between them.
