

Tesla Superchargers coming to India — Here are the first cities

American electric car manufacturer Tesla has made its way to India, with the Model Y as its first offering. Apart from their autonomous driving features, Teslas are known for their quick charging via the network of Tesla Superchargers. The carmaker has confirmed that they’ll also be bringing their Superchargers to India, and here are the first cities that will see them.
Upcoming Tesla Superchargers in India

Tesla plans to set up an initial network of eight Supercharger stations — four in Mumbai and four in Delhi NCR. Each station will have four Superchargers. Mumbai will have Supercharger stations at Lower Parel, Bandra Kurla, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. The National Capital Region will have Supercharger stations at Aerocity (Delhi), Saket (Delhi), Gurugram, and Noida.
Tesla V4 Supercharger details
The current generation of Superchargers have the capability to deliver up to 500kW for Tesla cars. A Model Y can be charged to a range of about 267 kilometres in 15 minutes, when charging at the car’s maximum capacity. India will get the CCS Type 2 plugs, which are commonly used across the country, enabling cars from other manufacturers to be charged at Tesla’s Superchargers.

Tesla Model Y India

Tesla is offering the Model Y in two configurations in India — RWD and RWD Long Range. The carmaker claims a range of 500km for the lower-spec variant, and 622km for the higher-spec variant, as per the WLTP test cycles. The Long Range variant offers faster acceleration from 0 to 100kmph at 5.6 seconds — 0.3 seconds faster than the standard RWD variant.

2025 Tesla Model Y price in India

Prices for the Tesla Model Y start at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the RWD variant, and at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the RWD Long Range variant. You’ll have to pay an additional Rs 95,000-Rs 1.85 lakh if you want a colour of your choice, another Rs 95,000 for the dual-tone interior option, and Rs 6 lakh for the self-driving option. The standard spec without the options includes Stealth Grey exterior colour with an all-black interior.
