Toyota Fortuner, Legender mild-hybrid launched — Price starts at Rs 44.72 lakh

Toyota India has officially launched the updated Fortuner and Legender SUVs, which feature the newly-introduced 2.8-litre mild-hybrid diesel engine. The mild-hybrid engine is named as the Neo Drive, sharing its name with the Neo Drive variants of the Taisor and Hyryder. Toyota Fortuner, Legender mild-hybrid details
The newly-launched Fortuner hybrid carries the same 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine along with the new 48V mild hybrid system. While Toyota has not quoted an official mileage figure, it’s said to deliver better efficiency than the standard engine and also better response while city driving. Furthermore, since it comes with an integrated starter generator, it also features idle start/stop, thereby further enhancing the fuel efficiency. There is no change in performance outputs and the engine continues to belt out 204PS of power and 500Nm of torque.

Toyota Fortuner hybrid price in India
Toyota India is yet to share the variant-wise prices of the newly-launched Fortuner hybrid. However, the hybrid variants—called NeoDrive—command a price premium of Rs 2 lakh over its respective standard variants. The Toyota Fortuner hybrid price starts from Rs 44.72 lakh whereas the Legender Hybrid price starts from Rs 50.09 lakh, (ex-showroom, New Delhi). For the additional price, Toyota offers a single new feature—a surround view camera—in addition to standard features like seven airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, ventilated front seats, front ventilated seats and more.

Toyota Fortuner, Legender hybrid bookings and deliveries
Toyota India has begun accepting bookings for the hybrid variants of the Fortuner and Legender SUVs. The Fortuner hybrid deliveries on the other hand will begin from the third week of June 2025. Since the mild hybrid engine has been introduced to the Fortuner, we expect the same engine to feature in the Hilux as well, announcement of which is likely to take place soon.
