VinFast is ready to launch its first cars in the Indian market — VF6 and VF7. Maruti Suzuki also has a new SUV lined up for a launch in September, which will be sold through its Arena network of dealerships. Along with these headliners, there are a few other new cars and SUVs that are expected to be officially launched next month. Here’s a list of the upcoming cars in India in September 2025.

Maruti Escudo

Launch date: September 3, 2025
Expected starting price: Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom)
Maruti Suzuki has a new SUV ready to be launched next month, which is expected to be slotted between Brezza and Grand Vitara. The carmaker has been secretive about the model, so there aren’t any concrete details out in the public, though it is said to be offered in petrol, hybrid, and CNG options.
Citroen Basalt X

Launch date: September 5, 2025
Expected starting price: Rs 12.75 lakh (ex-showroom)
Citroen is recalibrating its products for India, with the C3 being the first one to get a refresh. The Basalt will soon follow suit, with the launch of the Basalt X scheduled to take place on September 5. As was the case with the C3 X, the Basalt X is also likely to be positioned as the top-of-the-line trim for the coupe SUV, with added features and an ‘X’ badge on the boot lid.

VinFast VF6

Launch date: September 6, 2025
Expected starting price: Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)
After the inauguration of its plant in Tamil Nadu and its first showroom in Gujarat, VinFast is ready to launch its first two cars in India. The India-spec VF6 is expected to be offered in a front-wheel drive configuration, with two power output options and a 59.6kWh battery pack.
VinFast VF7

Launch date: September 6, 2025
Expected starting price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
The larger VF7 will also be making its debut alongside the VF6, and it is expected to go against the Harrier EV and XEV 9e. Expected powertrain specs include a 75.3kWh battery pack with both single-motor (front-wheel drive) and dual-motor (all-wheel drive) configurations.
Mahindra Thar facelift (3-door)

Expected starting price: Rs 11.75 lakh (ex-showroom)
Latest media reports suggest that a facelifted version of the Mahindra Thar 3-door is likely to be launched in September 2025. The refreshed SUV is expected to take design cues from the Mahindra Thar Roxx, and the same has also been seen on camouflaged test mules. Mahindra is also expected to add a slew of new features, but keep the powertrain options unchanged.

Volvo EX30

Expected starting price: Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom)
Volvo will launch its entry-level EV — Volvo EX30 — sometime in September 2025. The electric SUV will only be available in its single-motor configuration in India, which comprises a 272PS electric motor paired to a 69kWh battery pack, with a WLTP-claimed range of 480 kilometres.
