Upcoming second-gen Volkswagen T-Roc to get a strong hybrid powertrain?
- 1To be showcased at the upcoming Munich Motor Show
- 2Expected to get a new strong hybrid powertrain option
- 3Unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon
The Volkswagen T-Roc SUV was first launched globally in late-2027, and a second generation model is due to be launched, which will be first showcased at the upcoming Munich Motor Show in Germany. Latest media reports suggest that the new SUV will also come with the option of a strong hybrid powertrain — the first of its kind from Volkswagen. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming second-gen Volkswagen T-Roc.
2025 Volkswagen T-Roc

Volkswagen has released a teaser featuring a camouflaged T-Roc, and images of the upcoming model were also leaked a few days back. These suggest that the design of the new T-Roc will be more in-line with the current Volkswagen Taigun and Volkswagen Tayron SUVs.

New Volkswagen T-Roc design
As seen in the teaser and the leaked images, the second-gen T-Roc gets a large front grille with its headlights joined by a thin light bar, with the Volkswagen logo in the middle. It retains its sloping C-pillar characteristic, and features a new alloy wheel design. The rear features a similar design for the lights, with the VW logo in the middle, and T-Roc badging further down the boot lid.
Upcoming Volkswagen T-Roc hybrid?

The first generation model was available with a variety of petrol and diesel engines, depending on the market. It is expected that the second generation will come with a strong hybrid powertrain option, too, though there aren’t any specs of the same available at the moment.

New Volkswagen T-Roc India launch?
The first-gen T-Roc was brought to India as a CBU, resulting in a steep price point. It is unlikely that the next-gen T-Roc will be made available here, at least in the near future, as it will be difficult for the brand to slot it between the Taigun and the Tiguan.
