Volkswagen has unveiled the Tayron R-Line in India, though the price is still to be announced. This new seven seater SUV will be offered in a single variant only. It will sit above the Tiguan R-Line, making it Volkswagen’s most premium SUV for the Indian market.

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line unveiled in India
The 2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line is aimed at buyers who want a full size family SUV that looks clean and modern without trying too hard. The design leans toward sleek rather than bulky with enough visual muscle to feel premium. Up front, you get dual projector headlamps joined by a slim LED light strip, a mesh grille and Volkswagen’s IQ.LIGHT HD Matrix LED system. Roof rails, shark fin, and hood spoiler come standard.
From the side, the Tayron keeps things refreshingly simple. The lines are smooth, the proportions feel balanced, and nothing looks overdone. That same sense of restraint carries through front to rear. The 19 inch Coventry alloy wheels also fit the stance well.
In terms of size, the Tayron measures 4,792 mm in length, 1,866 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,789 mm. Boot space is generous, offering up to 850 litres.

The Volkswagen Tayron colour options include Urano Grey, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Dolphin Grey Metallic, Oryx White Premium Mother Of Pearl Black, Oyster Silver Metallic, Pure White, Cipressino Green Metallic, and Ultraviolet Metallic.

2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line features
The VW Tayron R line features 15 inch infotainment, Digital Cockpit Pro, Head Up Display, ambient lighting in 30 colours, wireless charging, ventilated front seats with memory and massage, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, an 11-speaker, Harman Kardon sound system, among others. On the safety side, it gets 9 airbags, Park Assist Plus with 360 camera, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.

The VW Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 204PS and 320Nm of torque. It comes exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive.
