In late 2022, the vehicle density in the youngest state of India, Telangana, crossed 1.5 crores, bringing with it the inevitable rise in driving licence requests. The responsibility of driving licence related services in Telangana solely lies with the Regional Transport Authority, or the RTA. Unlike the rest of India, Telangana has not yet fully integrated with the central government’s Sarathi.Parivahan portal.
However, this does not stop it from providing the convenience of online services related to driving licence to the users. With an extensive network of RTAs, a dedicated TG Transport online portal, and a responsive helpline number, checking your driving licence status online in Telangana is a smooth and easy process.
When to Check Your Driving Licence Status in Telangana?
The best time to check the status of DL application in Telangana is after two to three weeks of appearing for the driving skills test. As per the standard process, the applicant must be a learner’s licence holder for a minimum of 30 days to be eligible to apply for a permanent driving licence.
As the learner’s licence is issued the same day of clearing the online STALL test, the need to check your driving licence application status is only needed in case of a permanent licence. For this, the applicant must first apply for the driving licence, online or offline, book a slot for the driving skill test, and take the driving test on the designated date at the RTA/authorised motor school.
After completing the driving test, the RTA usually takes about two weeks to verify the documents and declare the test results ]. The online DL status is only visible once this process is complete. Once the DL is granted, it generally takes about 7 to 10 days for the license to be delivered to the applicant's registered address.
In certain rare scenarios, such as logistics errors, or errors in your application, the time taken to deliver your licence may be slightly increased. In such cases, it would be a good idea to approach the RTO for any further information regarding your DL application status.
Unlike many other states, Telangana has not yet integrated with the Parivahan website; hence, to check your DL application status, you will have to use the Government of Telangana Transport Department’s website. The step-by-step process to check your DL status online in Telangana is listed below.
