As highway travel becomes increasingly digitised and frictionless, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced an upward revision in the pricing of the widely adopted FASTag Annual Pass. Effective April 1, 2026, private vehicle owners who commute frequently across the national highway network will be required to pay ₹3,075 for the prepaid toll facility, marking a 2.5 per cent increase from the introductory price of ₹3,000. The adjustment, implemented ahead of the 2026–27 financial year, comes at a time when digital toll subscriptions have fundamentally altered how regular commuters navigate the country's extensive road infrastructure.
