Leaving the other C1-segment sedans aside, the primary target for the Honda Amaze is going be the Maruti-Suzuki Swift DZire. The DZire has successfully held its stronghold in this segment for almost 10 years despite the rapidly rising competition. With the 2017 model update, it managed to strengthen it’s grip even more. While the previous generation of the Honda Amaze did fairly decent on its own, it was no threatening matter for Maruti-Suzuki. New Honda Amaze vs Swift DZire: Engine Specifications
Both the cars are powered by 1.2 -litre, 4-cylinder engines. The power output on the new Amaze (Petrol) is 7PS more than on DZire. But the DZire generates 3Nm more torque then Amaze. No surprise here that the Maruti Dzire outshines Amaze in terms of mileage. It has a higher fuel storage capacity as well.

In the diesel variant, the Amaze packs more power and torque than the Dzire with 25PS and 10Nm respectively. However, when equipped with the CVT transmission, the Amaze’s output drops by 20PS and 40Nm. The mileage on the CVT enabled amaze also drops by 3.6 kmpl. On the other hand, The DZire’s AMT-equipped diesel variants remain identical to the manual versions.

The top-end Amaze gets LED position lights, LED tail lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, 7.0-inch floating Digipad 2.0 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear camera with parking sensors, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, height-adjustable front seat, auto climate control, cruise control, push start-stop, and steering-integrated paddle shifts (petrol-CVT).

In terms of pricing, The all-new Amaze costs Rs 5.59 lakh and goes till Rs 8.99 lakh and comes in 4 variants. The DZire is priced between Rs 5.56 lakh to Rs 9.43 lakh and comes with the option of AMT in the top ZDi+ variant.
