List of Safest cars in India Under Rs 10 Lakhs in 2021

The Indian car market has seen immense growth in the last few years. Many major manufacturers have set up shops and plants in India to fulfill the growing demand. With over 2 million units sold in 2015 alone, more and more Indians are upgrading from 2 wheelers to cars. The government is also continuously building better roads and improving connectivity. But one thing that hasn’t grabbed the attention of either the government or the consumers is safety. It is the primary reason for us to put together a list of safest cars in India under 10 lakhs in 2021.

Why safety features in cars are optional?

We have manufacturers who have been known to produce some of the safest cars globally. But still, they continue to not focus on safety equipment and measures in Indian cars. All this pertaining to minimal regulations imposed by the government. It’s not like the manufacturers don’t wish to produce safer cars, it’s more about the consumer and the authorities looking the other way. Choosing a car is a big deal in India because we want it all. The latest in terms of communication tech, high-end multimedia systems, alloy wheels, climate control, etc., are all on our checklist, but what about safety?

What difference can these safety features make?

Indian consumers usually tend to ignore the most crucial aspect of a car – the safety equipment. ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), airbags, EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) are terms alien for many, even today! There have been 238,562 (2013) fatalities in India due to road accidents as per data published by WHO. These lifesaving technologies can greatly improve your chances of walking away from a crash.

  1. Appreciable effort but also make a list of cars having structural integrity because as shown is ncap tests having more airbags but weak structure doesn’t help

    1. absolutely!!! more over, NCAP is made for speeds of only 65 kmph whereas seldom do people in our country drive at such sedate speeds.

      1. Anurag, this speed is decided by European authority where average speed of cars is much higher than us.
for your information, the speed seems 65 KMPH only, however when we do hard braking considering the possible accidental situation, we unknowingly reduced speed from kmph to 50-60 kmph within 3 seconds, hence the 64 kmph i.e. 50 MPH (europe term) is adequate for testing. Surprisingly, when indian govt planned to make india’s own crash test policy at 64 kmph speed, the car manufacturer lobby pressing govt to reduce speed to 57 kmph considering most of their cars will pass the test! Now think.

    1. You are absolutely Right brother…. Expect vw,ford
Other cars after crash like a test bin.. Honda city also like test bin when crash at 40 km/hr ha…ha.
