The Ford Mustang has been the go-to muscle car that Indian buyers never got a chance to experience. Although the Mustang 2021 was initially set to launch in India last year, the pandemic pushed back that date and we can now expect the iconic Mustang 2021 to arrive in the country in October. As expected, not a lot is known about the Mustang that will be made available in India but there are some specifications that have been released. Under the hood of the iconic muscle car will sit either a 2.3L EcoBoost petrol engine or a 5.0 V8 petrol engine. According to the rumours, the 2.3L engine is expected to generate 310hp while the 5.0L engine is expected to produce 450hp. In the transmission department, the Mustang 2021 is expected paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of features, the Ford Mustang 2021 comes with a plethora of inclusions, some of which are; airbags for the driver and passenger, ABS with EBD, hill assist, brake assist, traction control, power doors, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing windshield wipers, parking camera in the rear, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, push-button start/stop, keyless entry, seatbelt warning, GPS navigation, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. All the details for Mustang 2021 will only be available when the car is released in India.

The world is slowly but steadily moving towards the electrification of automobiles. Electric Vehicles or EVs have become increasingly popular in countries like the USA, England, Canada, and France, and are majorly used in countries like Norway (74.8%), Iceland (45%), and Sweden (32.2%). India too has been embracing the electric route with electric scooters on an all-time high right now. EV cars are also quite popular and some of the biggest names in the industry already have a few models in their lineup. Hyundai is also entering the game with the upcoming Nexo. The Nexo is expected to be powered by a 120kW electric motor that is expected to generate 163Ps of power and 395Nm of torque. Powering the motor will be Hydrogen fuel cells and a battery pack that will increase the capacity to 135kW. The Nexo has been tested in Europe and it has produced a range of about 600 kms on a single charge, but Hyundai believes that the Nexo could easily have a 1,000 km range in India. Some of the features teased on the Nexo include ventilated front seats, a digital instrument cluster, automatic tailgate, and a sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and wireless charging. Safety features on the Nexo should include ABS with EBD, adaptive cruise control, park assist, lane keep assist, and forward-collision assistance.

While Mercedes-Benz has already revealed the upcoming electric EQA SUV, it is most likely set to hit the Indian market in 2022 with a launch date of mid-October, 2021. The EQA is already available abroad and it is expected that the Indian variant will carry identical or similar specifications and features. The EQA will be powered by a powerful electric motor that will get its power from a 66.5kWh battery pack that is expected to provide a range of about 425 kms on a single charge. The motor itself is expected to produce 190Ps of power and 375Nm of torque and will have a Front-Wheel-Drive system. In terms of charging capabilities, the EQA will come with a standard Combined Charging System connector. The Mercedes-Benz AC wall box charger or the regular AC charging stations will take about 5 hours and 45 minutes to get the EQA from 10 percent to 100 percent. On the other hand, the 100 kW DC fast charging capabilities will allow the car to go from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. What we can expect on the EQA is luxury in the form of a dual 10.25-inch touchscreen setup, LED headlamps and taillights, MBUX infotainment system, blue accents for ambient lighting, and a digital assistant. Safety will also be a priority on the EQA and it is expected to come with ABS with EBD, Active Distance Assist, Active Steer Assist, Active Blind Spot Monitoring, and Evasive Steering Assist.

The powerful BMW M3 sedan is one of the most anticipated cars in the Indian market and most people can’t wait to get their eyes on it, if they can’t get their hands on it that is. BMW has made the M3 sedan one of the most stylish, yet fierce-looking cars, and it will be a very capable competitor in the country. Expected to power the M3 is a 3.0L In-Line Six Twin-Turbo petrol engine that should generate 473Ps of power and 550Nm of torque for the normal variant while the upgraded model will produce 503Ps of power and 649Nm of torque. While the regular variant of the M3 is expected to be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the more powerful model will get an 8-speed automatic transmission system. In the features department, the BMW M3 is expected to come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, multiple charging ports, wireless charging, a Harmon/Kardon audio system, and ventilated seats for heating and cooling functions. The safety features on the BMW M3 include ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, ABS with EBD, parking sensors in the front and rear, a parking camera, multiple airbags, and driver-assistance technology.

The new Audi Q7 will take the place of the previous Q7 SUV in India and it is expected to come loaded with features and a performance that will be very hard to match. Under the hood of the upcoming Q7 will either be a BSVI-compliant 2.0L TFSI petrol engine that will produce 248Ps of power and 273Nm of torque or a 3.0L TFSI petrol engine that generates 335Ps of power with 369Nm of torque. Both engines will be paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission system with Quattro All-Wheel-Drive functionality. In terms of features, the Q7 2021 will come fitted with a 12.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster known as the Audi Virtual Cockpit. The infotainment system will comprise two touchscreens including a 10.1-inch and an 8.6-inch monitor which will come with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The audio system will come with 3D Surround Sound and high-quality HD Radio Technology. The Q7 2021 will also feature advanced keyless entry, rain sensor windshields, cruise control, auto drive, hill descent assistance, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof. While the previous Q7 was one of the most used cars in the Audi lineup last year, the upcoming model could quite easily lead the charge in the SUV segment.

Volvo was, until recently, considered one of the elusive car manufacturers in India, and people would rarely get a glimpse of their luxurious cars on the roads. While there are a few Volvo cars available for purchase right now, the upcoming S90 2021 seems to have gathered a lot of popularity – and we still haven’t even seen the sedan in real life. Expected to power the S90 2021 is a 2.0L Twin-Turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 190Ps of power and 400Nm of torque. Paired to the powerful engine will be an 8-speed Torque-Converter automatic gearbox with Front-Wheel-Drive capabilities. Inside, the S90 2021 is expected to come with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will handle the majority of functions. Other features on the S90 2021 include ventilated and heated seats, HUD, Connected Car technology with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, charging ports, and automatic climate control. While Audi had plans to launch the upcoming Q5 2021 SUV sometime in January of this year, the pandemic forced the brand to push back the launch date to November 2021. The SUV has already gained a lot of popularity in other countries around the world like the US and UK and it is expected to bring that same excitement to India when it is finally launched. Powering the Q5 2021 is a BSVI-compliant 2.0L TFSI Turbocharged-petrol engine that is capable of generating 248Ps of power and 273Nm of torque. Mated to the Q5 2021 engine will be a 7-speed S Tronic DCT automatic gearbox that also features Quattro All-Wheel-Drive technology. With the latest tests, the Q5 2021 has provided an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in just under 6 seconds. Some of the features we can expect to see on the Q5 2021 will include a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bluetooth audio connectivity, high-end speakers with WiFi, and an all-digital instrument cluster.

Now expected to launch in December, we can’t wait to see the Model 3 in action. The Model 3 is one of the most popular cars in Tesla’s lineup and is definitely going to turn heads in the country. With EVs already becoming extremely popular in India, we can expect that the Model 3 will also find the interest of interested buyers. Powering the Tesla Model 3 is a 50kWh Lithium-Ion battery in the standard variant while the most powerful model houses a 75kWh Lithium-Ion battery. The battery offers a range of 354 Kms for the standard variant while the most powerful variant offers an impressive 534 Kms when fully charged. When charging the Model 3 using the AC charger, the time it takes is around 6.5 hours from 0-100 percent while the DC charger offers 209 Kms in just 30 minutes. The Tesla Model 3 is capable of going from 0-100 Kmph in a quick 5.6 seconds. Some of the features of the Model S include a 15.4-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system that also works as a digital instrument cluster, a keyless NFC keycard, Bluetooth connectivity, parking cameras, and Autopilot Mode.

The second-generation Lexus NX will be hitting Indian roads in January 2022 and there is quite a lot it has to offer. Rather than 2 engine options like last year, this year, Lexus has announced that there will be 4 powertrains made available. Powering the new NX 2022 will be either a 2.5L Naturally-Aspirated petrol engine that produces 203Ps of power and 250Nm of torque or a 2.4L Turbocharged petrol engine that generates 275Ps of power and 429Nm of torque. There will also be two hybrid powertrains that pair with the 2.5L engine and generate 239Ps or 302Ps. In the transmission department, the NX 2022 will be made available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with either a Front-Wheel-Drive or All-Wheel-Drive system. Some of the features that will be available on the NX 2022 include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated seats, a 9.8-inch or a 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charging, HUD, a superior Mark Levinson audio setup, and high-end leather upholstery. The NX 2022 will also come with safety features such as lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, multiple airbags, and parking sensors in the front and rear.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is an electric SUV that has been teased and talked about in India for quite a while and it finally seems that Volvo is ready to unleash the vehicle in 2022. The 5-seater SUV is expected to be one of the best EV SUVs in the market once it is launched. Powering the XC40 Recharge will be a Twin Electric Motor setup that produces 408Ps of power and 660Nm of torque. The motors will get their power from a twin-battery setup that is expected to give the XC40 Recharge a range of about 418 Kms. The SUV will have an All-Wheel-Drive system which will give it an acceleration of 0-100 Kmph in just 4.9 seconds. When it comes to charging the XC40 Recharge, Volvo has made the car fast-charge compliant and with a 150kW charger, the SUV will be capable of reaching 80 percent in about 40 minutes. There will also be the regular charger provided by Volvo which will take a little more time. In the features department, the XC40 Recharge will come with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, LED headlamps and taillights, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, power windows and doors, and automatic climate control. The XC40 Recharge will also come with safety features such as autonomous braking, 6 airbags, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, and parking sensors in the rear and front.

As we already talked about, the Ford Mustang 2021 is one of the most talked-about and anticipated cars in the Indian market. Taking things even further, Ford is ready to bring their Electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E, to the country in 2022. Being an EV, the Mustang Mach-E is expected to quickly gain popularity in India and will have some tough competition to go up against. However, being an EV has not stopped Ford from designing Mach-E like a total beast. The body sports sharp lines and aggressive angles to give it a sporty-muscle look. Powering the Mach-E will either be a 68kWh battery pack for the Standard Range or an 88kWh pack for the Extended Range variant. The range for the Standard and Extended variant on a single Rear-Wheel-Drive is expected to be 370 kms and 483 kms respectively. There will also be an e-All-Wheel-Drive option for both battery packs with an expected range of 340 kms for the Standard and 435 kms for the Extended variants. The electric motors with the Standard battery pack generate 270Ps of power and 430Nm of torque on Rear-Wheel-Drive and 270Ps of power and 580Nm of torque on e-All-Wheel-Drive. Moving onto the Extended battery pack, the electric motors produce 294Ps of power and 430Nm of torque on RWD and 294Ps of power, and 351Nm of torque on e-AWD. For those looking for a little extra, Ford could also introduce a performance-centric variant called the Mach-E GT. If this powerful SUV makes it to Indian stores, it will most likely come with an 88kWh battery pack with an e-AWD setup. It will generate 487Ps of power and 813Nm of torque and is expected to go from 0-96 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. In terms of range, the Mach-E GT is expected to offer 435 kms. Now, inside the Mach-E, Ford is expected to offer their signature 15.5-inch vertical central touchscreen display for controlling everything in the vehicle. There is also a 10.2-inch screen on the driver’s side that will display all the information for the driver. The 5-seater E-SUV is also expected to come with a 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, automatic climate control, and a stereo surround audio setup. We can also expect the Mach-E to come with some of the latest safety features including ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, multiple airbags, collision alert, ABS with EBD, and lane-keep assist.

Tesla recently announced that they will be entering the country and it got everyone interested. The Model Y is probably one of the most popular models from the brand and it will be ready for purchase sometime in 2022. The Model Y will be available in two variants – the Performance and the Long Range. The electric SUV will be able to seat up to 7 passengers. The Model Y will be powered by a dual-motor setup and an All-Wheel-Drive setup. The battery pack in the Model Y is expected to offer a range of 488 kms and 525 kms on a full charge on the Performance and Long Range variants respectively. While the safety features haven’t been mentioned about the Indian variant of the Model Y, we can expect it to come with the basics like ABS with EBD, parking sensors, multiple airbags, and adaptive cruise control.

As per the leaks, it is expected that the Jeep Cherokee 2022 will be made available in a 6-seater variant as well as a 7-seater option. Under the hood, the Grand Cherokee 2022 will house either a 3.6L V6 petrol engine that will produce 294Ps of power and 348Nm of torque or a 5.7L V8 petrol engine that generates 364Ps of power and 520Nm of torque. In the transmission department, the Grand Cherokee 2022 will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with 4x4 systems. The SUV is expected to come with 5 drive modes including Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand, Rock, and Snow. Inside, the Grand Cherokee will come with features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated and heated front seats, 16-way power-adjustable front seats, lumbar support and massage settings, a dual-panel sunroof and powered shade, and 4-zone automatic climate control. Some of the safety features that are expected to make their way into the Grand Cherokee 2022 include FCAs Level 2 autonomous driving technology, Active Drive Assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic lane centering, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, ADS with EBD, and multiple airbags.
