The Volkswagen Virtus has been rated by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) for both, adult occupant protection and child occupant protection. In the adult occupant protection category, the Virtus has earned a 5-star rating. The SUV scored a 29.71 out of 34 points in its frontal-offset crash test.

The testing body observed that this car offered adept protection to the driver and passenger’s head, neck and chest. It was noted that the car had a stable bodyshell and standard ESC system that would keep the car secure even at high speeds.

Volkswagen Virtus Child Occupant Protection Rating 

In the test for child occupants’ safety, the Virtus scored 42 out of 49 points. The testing body noted that ISOFIX anchorages were able to prevent head injury during the frontal impact offering full protection.

The crash test also revealed that the Child Restraint System (CRS) offered full side impact protection. Overall, the Virtus proved to be a safe car for children.

GNCAP noted that this sedan was fitted with 40+ safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, park distance control, rear-view camera, multi-collision brakes, hill hold control, tyre pressure deflation warning, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, and brake disc wiping, making the Virtus a safe choice for buyers in India.

Volkswagen Virtus Motorcyclist Safety Test

The Global NCAP also evaluates the protection offered to vulnerable road users like pedestrians and motorcyclists in its tests. In the Motorcyclist Safety Test, the car is evaluated for its ability to prevent injuries to the rider and the passenger in case of a collision. The Virtus comes equipped with features like an Electronic Stability Control system that detects a critical situation and prevents skidding while multi-collision brakes decrease the speed of the vehicle in the event of a collision.
