Mercedes E-Class mileage is obviously different for different types of engines. 

• E 200 (Petrol): 15 kmpl 
• E 220d (Diesel): 15 - 16.1 kmpl 
• E 450 4MATIC (Petrol): 12 kmpl

The E 220d Diesel is the best for long-distance travel. Petrol versions return poorer economy, particularly the E 450, which is a tradeoff of economy for performance. In Indian conditions, petrol models will experience a noticeable drop in city usage, while the Diesel is the most consistent for mixed driving.

The Mercedes E-Class does not follow a radical design approach but rather an evolutionary one.
