Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ launched in India — Prices, features, design, & more

Mahindra has launched the BE 6 SPORTEQ in India, a new series built on top of its existing BE 6 electric SUV. Prices for the BE 6 SPORTEQ start at Rs 11.45 lakh under the Battery as a Service plan, going up to Rs 26.95 lakh for variants with outright battery ownership. The series was unveiled alongside two special editions: the BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition and the BE 6 SPORTEQ Formula E Freedom Edition.

2026 Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ price and variants

The Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ is offered across eight variants: ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR and Launch Edition. Pricing depends on both the variant and the battery option chosen. Buyers can pick the Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan, where the vehicle is bought at a lower upfront price and the battery is paid for separately at Rs 3.75 per km, based on an assumed usage of 60 km a day. This option is available only on the entry-level ONE and TWO variants, priced at Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 12.95 lakh respectively.

For buyers who prefer to own the battery outright, here is how the variant-wise pricing breaks down across the three battery pack sizes:

Prices are ex-showroom and do not include the wall charger or its installation cost. BaaS price is based on a battery usage rate of Rs 3.75 per km, assuming 60 km of daily driving. 

The BE 6 SPORTEQ is available in 12 colour options in total, including four new shades: Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin.

Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ cockpit and cabin design

One of the biggest changes in the BE 6 SPORTEQ is the cabin layout. From the TWO variant onwards, it gets a three-screen, coast-to-coast display that stretches across the dashboard. This gives the cabin a more modern and futuristic look compared to the standard BE 6.

For buyers who prefer the original layout, the SPORTEQ Freedom Edition keeps the two-screen setup. It also retains the signature halo design around the display. Mahindra's Chief Design and Creative Officer, Pratap Bose, said the aim was to give the cabin the same dramatic feel as the exterior. The new Racing Tan interior, three-screen display and different materials have been designed to make the cabin feel more immersive while keeping the driver at the centre.

TEQ Suites and the MAIA software platform

The Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ introduces six new TEQ Suites, all powered by MAIA, Mahindra's in-house Artificial Intelligence Architecture. MAIA is the base for Mahindra's software-focused vehicle system. These TEQ Suites are designed to make the car more intuitive, personalised and responsive over time.

TEQ_Talk is one of the key additions. Built using Google Gemini, it works as a voice assistant powered by 17 specialised AI agents. It supports more than 100 vehicle functions and 48 apps, including vehicle controls, navigation, music and news. This allows owners to interact with the car using natural language instead of going through multiple menus.

TEQ_Play focuses on entertainment inside the car. It includes karaoke and an in-car gaming suite, both claimed to be firsts for an OEM in India. It also supports bring-your-own-device gaming, private audio with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, GrooveMe Party mode and a feature called Milestone.

TEQ_Drive focuses on the driving experience. It includes a custom drive mode, drift mode, Tribe Drive, and Revive and Revive SOS functions. The Formula E Freedom Edition also gets an exclusive Acceleration Boost mode.

TEQ_Me focuses on personalisation. Its auto-detecting user profile system can recognise the driver and adjust the car's settings accordingly.

TEQ_Secure focuses on safety and monitoring. It includes Secure360 Pro, which provides a live view with audio relay and intrusion alerts. It also gets an expanded Digital Car Key system that works with iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Samsung smartphones, as well as NFC key cards. Mahindra says this makes it the first Indian automotive brand to offer Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC)-compliant digital key functionality across multiple device ecosystems. The suite also includes a third-screen parental lock.

TEQ_xting lets owners create personalised messages on the tailgate, adding another small customisation option to the car.

Mahindra has confirmed that many of these software features will not remain exclusive to the SPORTEQ series. They will also be rolled out to existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners through over-the-air updates in phases, starting January 2027. The exact features available will depend on the model and variant.

Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition

The BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition sits at the top of the range and is priced at Rs 26.95 lakh. It gets an exclusive Graphite Storm exterior colour with a Racing Tan leatherette interior. Based on the FOUR variant, it also comes with the larger 79kWh battery.

Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ Formula E Freedom Edition

The Mahindra  Formula E Freedom Edition is the performance-focused variant of the lineup and takes inspiration from Mahindra Racing's Formula E programme. It keeps the original BE 6 headlamp design but gets a sportier exterior with tricolour accents inspired by its motorsport connection.

It is available in satin colour finishes, including the new Rosso Impulso shade. Inside, it gets a Black and Firestorm Orange theme, along with the two-screen digital cockpit and the signature halo design. The biggest highlight is the Acceleration Boost mode, which brings the 0-100 kmph time down to 6.44 seconds. This gives the Freedom Edition stronger performance than the standard variants.

The Formula E connection will also be showcased at the London E-Prix, where Mahindra will display the Freedom racing livery alongside the SPORTEQ Freedom Edition.

Battery as a Service explained

The Battery as a Service (BaaS) option works a little differently. Instead of paying for the battery as part of the car's full price, buyers pay a lower upfront amount and then pay Rs 3.75 per km for battery usage. The calculation is based on an assumed daily driving distance of 60 km.

This brings down the initial cost of buying the car. For example, the BaaS version of the ONE variant costs Rs 11.45 lakh, compared with Rs 19.45 lakh for the same variant with the battery included. This option could suit buyers who want a lower upfront price and are comfortable paying for battery usage based on how much they drive.

Deliveries and availability

Mahindra will begin deliveries of the BE 6 SPORTEQ on 26 August 2026, timed to coincide with Onam. Bookings and further details on trims and colour availability are expected to be shared closer to the delivery date through Mahindra's official channels.
