There has been an influx of electric cars in India in the recent past, and this has been a trend that’s been witnessed across segments. Today, we have electric powertrain options on hatchbacks like the Punch EV to supercars like the Taycan. There are a couple of electric 7-seater cars in India as well, and there are more coming in the near future. Here’s a list of all the 7-seater electric cars in India.

BYD eMax7

The BYD eMax7 is the most affordable 7-seater car in India that comes with an electric powertrain. The variants that get 7 seats are priced from Rs 27.90 lakh to Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The entry-level trim gets an NEDC-claimed range of 420km, and the top-level trim gets an NEDC-claimed range of 530km.

Mercedes-Benz EQB

The Mercedes-Benz EQS, in its lower-spec 250+ trim, gets a 7-seater layout, and comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs 72.20 lakh. It gets a claimed WLTP range of 464-535 kilometres per charge, and comes with a single front-mounted motor.

Kia Carens Clavis EV

Kia recently launched the facelifted Carens MPV, which it has christened as the Kia Carens Clavis. The car will soon get the option of an electric powertrain, though details and specifications of the same are scarce at the moment.
MG M9

MG showcased their Toyota Vellfire-rivaling luxury van at the Delhi Motor Show earlier this year, and the car was supposed to be launched by now. We expect it to be here soon, and be offered in a seven-seater layout as well.

Mahindra XUV700 Electric

Following the launch of the BE 6 and XEV 9e born-electric SUVs, an electric version of the XUV700 is also on the cards and is likely to be launched sometime this year itself. It is expected to get a three-screen layout inside the cabin as seen on the XEV 9e.
Volvo EX90

Volvo has been rapidly moving towards electrification, and is expected to bring its electric 7-seater, the EX90, to the Indian market in the near future. The carmaker is yet to confirm the details of the same though.
Hyundai Ioniq 9

Along with the MG M9, Hyundai also showcased a 7-seater electric car at the Auto Expo — the Hyundai Ioniq 9. It gets a large 110.3kWh battery pack and comes in multiple configurations in global markets, though it is unclear as to which of those will be offered in India.

Skoda Vision 7S

Another Auto Expo debutant, the Skoda Vision 7S, is also expected to make its way to our shores in the next few years. The car is still in its development stage, and the exact specifications of the same are awaited as of date.
