2026 Kia Clavis GT-Line & X-Line get major updates — Here’s why they change the game!
- 1Kia has added GT-Line (GTX, GTX+) and X-Line trims to the Carens Clavis MY26 lineup
- 2All three new variants are turbo petrol DCT only
- 3ADAS is now available on the more affordable HTX(O)A trim
The Kia Carens Clavis has been a reliable performer since it debuted as the premium successor to the Carens. It offered improved styling, a more contemporary cabin, and an extensive feature list in the family MPV sector.
With the MY26 update, Kia is taking a slightly different approach. Instead of merely refreshing the existing model, the company has expanded the range upwards with three new trims — GT-Line in GTX and GTX+, and X-Line. What makes this even more interesting is that these more premium versions still start at a price point below Rs 20 lakh, making them quite accessible.
At the same time, Kia hasn’t ignored the lower variants. Features like ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and LED headlamps have now trickled down to more affordable trims, which is always a welcome move. Now, let’s take a closer look at what each of these new variants brings to the table.
2026 Kia Carens GT Line — What's new on the outside & inside

The new Kia GT-Line trims (GTX and GTX+) give the Clavis a much sportier and more premium vibe. On the outside, you’ll notice details like gloss black roof rails and ORVMs, a revised front bumper with body-coloured inserts and LED fog lamps, along with a fresh set of alloy wheels. There are also small touches like the body side garnish, lime green brake callipers, and metal pedals.
Step inside, and both variants get an all-black cabin with leatherette seats, lifted by subtle off-white accents. There’s also a new 3-spoke, two-tone steering wheel wrapped in leatherette.
In terms of features, the GT-Line builds on the lower variants by adding useful upgrades like LED fog lamps and second-row captain seats in a 6-seater layout, with sliding, reclining, and tumble functions. The GTX variant gets remote engine start with the smart key, while the GTX+ adds a digital key.
2026 Kia Carens X-Line — New styling details
Then there’s the 2026 Kia Clavis X-Line, which has a slightly more rugged and distinctive look. It comes with an exclusive Dark Gun Metal shade, along with the option of Aurora Black Pearl. Inside, it sticks to a black theme but adds Hunter Green accents, along with a dark satin chrome finish on the beltline. Just like the GT-Line, the X-Line also offers the option of second-row captain seats in a 6-seater setup and comes with a digital key.
2026 Kia Carens engine & transmission — GT-Line & X-Line
| Engine Type | Max Power | Max Torque | Gearbox Options | GTX / X-Line Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.5L Turbo Petrol | 160PS at 5,500 rpm | 253Nm at 1,500–3,500 rpm | 6MT / 6iMT / 7DCT | 7DCT only |
| 1.5L Petrol (NA) | 115PS at 6,300 rpm | 144Nm at 4,500 rpm | 6MT | Not available |
| 1.5L Diesel VGT | 116PS at 4,000 rpm | 250Nm at 1,500–2,750 rpm | 6MT / 6AT | Not available |
The GT-Line and X-Line are turbo petrol DCT only. No diesel, no manual option. It's a deliberate choice to keep these trims performance-oriented. There are three engine options in the broader Carens Clavis range, but the new GTX, GTX+, and X-Line are only available with one of them — the Smartstream G1.5 T-GDi turbo petrol with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Kia Clavis HTX (O) gets Level 2 ADAS — Here’s what’s included

Among the updates, one of the most significant changes is the addition of Level 2 ADAS to the Kia HTX (O) variant. This advanced safety suite is now available with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, making these features accessible at a price point below Rs 20 lakh. It’s a notable move, as it brings high-end safety tech to a more affordable trim in the lineup.

Additionally, the MY26 Carens Clavis also introduces Idle Stop & Go (ISG) technology in the base HTE variant. This system helps improve fuel efficiency by automatically shutting off the engine during idle conditions, especially useful in stop-and-go city traffic, and restarting it when needed.

| X-Line (New) | — | — | — | Rs 21,56,900 | — | — |
The MY26 Kia Clavis GTX comes in at Rs 19.80 lakh, which is almost exactly the same price as the HTX(O) at Rs 19.39 lakh, just Rs 41,000 more. That's a remarkably small gap for a significantly different visual and feature package. You're essentially getting the GT-Line styling, Bose audio, Bose speakers, lime callipers, new alloys, and the complete GTX feature set for a price that was previously occupied by a less distinctive variant.
The new Kia Clavis GTX+ at Rs 21.56 lakh sits Rs 72,000 above the HTX Plus DCT at Rs 20.84 lakh. Given that the GTX+ adds ventilated front seats, a 4-way power driver seat, rain-sensing wipers, and the Walkin-Lever over the HTX+, that premium is pretty easy to justify.
The Kia Clavis X-Line is also priced at Rs 21.56 lakh, exactly the same as the GTX+. The trade-off here is that you lose the lime callipers and get Hunter Green accents instead of off-white, plus the exclusive Dark Gun Metal colour and Digital Key. Whether you prefer the sportier GTX+ or the darker X-Line really comes down to personal preference since the price is identical.
