Stellantis has issued a recall of almost 80,000 units of the Jeep Wrangler across the United States, owing to a faulty tyre pressure monitoring system, which could result in an unsuitable tyre pressure being left unnoticed, potentially leading to accidents. Reason for the recall

The SUVs are being recalled due to a potentially faulty TPMS, with the remote start antenna cable being pinched, resulting in the TPMS warning light to not light up. This could cause an incorrect tyre pressure being unnoticed by the driver.

Cars affected

The units affected include those manufactured between 2024-25. Owners can enter their SUV’s VIN at NTHSA’s recall portal to see if their vehicle is a part of the recall or not. 

What should the owners do?

Jeep is expected to reach out to the owners of affected vehicles in order to inspect and replace the faulty components, with no extra cost to the owners. Alternatively, customers can reach out to their nearest Jeep dealership or contact Jeep customer service.

Are Jeep Wranglers in India affected?

As per the current communication, no. Jeep Wranglers sold in India are assembled via CKD kits in Pune, while the affected units are restricted to USA-made SUVs.
