- 3JSW MG Motor is raising prices by up to 2% across its ICE and EV range
April 1 marks the start of India’s new financial year and over time, it has also become a common date for car price revisions. This year is no different. Several brands, from budget hatchbacks to luxury SUVs, have already confirmed that prices will go up from April 1, 2026.
For some carmakers, this isn’t the first increase of the year. BMW and Mercedes-Benz had already raised prices on January 1, and they are set to do it again now. It gives a sense of how ongoing cost pressures are affecting pricing across the industry. Here’s a look at all the brands that have announced a price hike from April 2026.
Tata Motors

Tata Motors will increase prices across its internal combustion engine passenger vehicle range by a weighted average of 0.5% from April 1. This applies to petrol, diesel, and CNG models. Tata’s electric vehicles are not part of this revision and will continue at current prices.
The hike covers the entire ICE lineup, including the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Sierra, Harrier, and Safari. The exact increase will vary depending on the model and variant. Tata says the price revision is due to rising input costs, which it can no longer fully absorb on its own.
BMW and MINI

BMW Group India will increase prices across both its BMW and MINI lineups by up to 2% from April 1. This applies to the entire range. It includes locally assembled models like the 3 Series LWB and X5, as well as imported CBUs and performance cars. Electric models like the i7 are also part of this revision.
MINI models, including the Cooper SE and Countryman Electric, will also see a price hike. BMW says the increase is driven by rising logistics costs, higher material prices, and a weakening rupee. This is the second price revision for BMW in 2026, after a hike that came into effect on January 1.
Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed a price increase of around 2% across its lineup from April 1. This is the second revision the brand is making in 2026. It had already raised prices by 2 percent in January.
The company points to a weakening rupee against the euro and rising input costs as the main reasons for the hike. Mercedes also plans to launch 12 new or updated models in India this year. Even after these back-to-back price increases, the brand says most models are still priced lower than they were before GST revisions brought prices down earlier.
Audi

Audi India will increase prices by up to 2% across its lineup from April 1, 2026. This is the first price revision for Audi this year. In contrast, BMW and Mercedes have already made an increase in January. The company says the hike is due to rising input costs and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director of Audi India, confirmed the revision. He added that the brand is trying to keep the impact on customers as low as possible while dealing with ongoing cost pressures. The price increase will apply to all Audi models sold in India.
JSW MG Motor

JSW MG Motor India has confirmed a price hike of up to 2% from April 1, 2026. This applies across both its ICE and electric vehicle lineup. The revision covers models like the Hector, Astor, ZS EV, Comet EV, and Windsor EV. However, MG Select models such as the Cyberster and M9 are not included in this hike.
The company says the increase is meant to partly offset rising input costs. It has not shared model-wise price changes yet. Customers can check with dealerships or visit the official MG India website for updated prices once the revision takes effect.

Honda

Honda Cars India has confirmed that prices will go up from April 2026. The company has not shared the exact percentage yet. It says the increase is due to continued pressure from higher input and operational costs.
All current Honda models in India are expected to be affected. This includes the Amaze, City, City e:HEV, and Elevate. Honda had already revised prices earlier in 2026. This upcoming hike continues what has now become a regular adjustment at the start of the financial year. Earlier reports had also hinted at this move before the official confirmation.
