Earlier in January, Citroen increased the price of the Basalt by up to Rs 28,000 in India. Now, the price of the Basalt has gone up again by up to Rs 8,001. However, the prices of the Basalt Plus MT and the recently launched Basalt Dark Editions remain unchanged in India.

The Citroen Basalt You MT, Plus Turbo MT, and Plus Turbo AT have received a flat price hike of Rs 7,000. Meanwhile, the Basalt Max Turbo MT and Max Turbo AT have become more expensive by Rs 8,000 each. The Max Turbo variant with an automatic gearbox and dual-tone finish has also seen a price increase of Rs 8,001.

The Citroen Basalt comes with two engine options. One is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The other is a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

 

Speaking of the Citroen Basalt mileage, as claimed by the carmaker, the naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 19.5 km/l, while the turbo petrol engine offers 19.5 km/l with the manual gearbox and 18.7 km/l with the automatic
