But for Honda, August was clearly tough. It wasn’t just a minor slip or an average month—it was a sharp downturn. Domestic sales dropped by 21.71% year-on-year, and exports took an even bigger hit, falling 49.74%. In the domestic market, the numbers aren’t stacking up well for Honda India. The company sold 3,850 units in August, which is 1,476 fewer than the same month last year translating to a 27.71% dip. 

 

As for Honda export sales, the drop is even steeper. Just 2,924 units were shipped this August, compared to 5,817 a year ago, marking a sharp 49.74% year-on-year decline. When you look at the total Honda sales, the figure stands at 6,774 units—down 39.22% overall.

Looking at month-on-month performance, it’s clear August didn’t bring any relief. Sales dropped to 6,774 units, down from 7,524 in July. That’s a 9.97% decline overall. But it’s not just the total that slipped. Both domestic and export numbers fell too.
