Jeep Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition launched in India — Starts at Rs 36.05 lakh

Jeep India has launched the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition, a limited-run model priced at Rs 36.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Production is limited to just 85 units to celebrate 85 years of the Jeep brand globally. The special edition is now available through authorised Jeep dealerships and the company's website. The standard Meridian also receives the new CARA AI voice assistant and continues to be sold separately, with prices starting at Rs 30.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition is based on the Overland variant and receives exclusive styling rather than mechanical changes. It gets gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels, 85th Anniversary badging, and an all-black cabin with Mayan Gold accents. Jeep is also offering optional Anniversary AXS accessory packs, which include carpet floor mats, an Anniversary decal kit, ambient lighting, and Sky Lounge sunroof illumination. The special edition is available in five exterior colours: Pearl White, Techno Metallic Green, Velvet Red, Grigio Magnesio, and Brilliant Black.

CARA AI voice assistant debuts on the Jeep Meridian

Along with the 85th Anniversary Edition, Jeep has introduced Stellantis' CARA AI voice assistant to the Meridian. The system supports natural voice commands for functions such as navigation, reminders, weather updates, phone calls, music playback and general queries. It also supports 52 languages, including several Indian languages.

A testbed for wider CARA deployment

With CARA now available on the Meridian, Jeep could gradually expand the AI voice assistant across its India lineup. The company has been slower than some domestic and Korean rivals in introducing conversational voice assistants, many of which already offer similar features across their regular model range. If CARA receives a positive response, it is likely to be introduced on other Jeep models, including the Compass, in future updates.

Jeep Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition engine specs

The Jeep Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. Unlike the regular Meridian, which comes with a manual or automatic option, the Track Edition is available only with the nine-speed automatic and comes in both 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrain options.
