May 2026 turned out to be a landmark month for Kia India, and not just because the numbers were good. The company posted wholesale dispatches of 27,586 units during the month, its highest-ever volume for the month of May since it entered the Indian market.
The 23.62% year-on-year growth over May 2025's 22,315 units also came with a modest sequential improvement, with April 2026 having recorded 27,286 units. Kia is now firmly above the 27,000-unit monthly mark and building on it.

Kia reported wholesale dispatches of 27,586 units in May 2026, up 23.62% from 22,315 units in the same month last year. The company also saw a slight improvement over April 2026, with dispatches increasing by 1.10%.
Kia Seltos and Sonet continue to lead Kia's sales
The Seltos and Sonet remained Kia's key volume contributors in May. The Seltos continued to be one of the brand's best-selling models, while the Sonet maintained steady demand in the compact SUV segment. The updated Syros has also seen a positive response following its recent variant and pricing revision, with the wider availability of automatic variants helping boost its appeal. Kia is also expected to launch the Syros EV soon.
The Carens Clavis and Clavis EV added to the brand's overall volumes as well. The Battery-as-a-Service scheme has helped lower the Clavis EV's entry price, making it more accessible to buyers considering an electric MPV.

Kia YTD performance reflects consistent growth

Kia's strong May results are consistent with the momentum it has carried through the first five months of 2026. Between January and May 2026, cumulative sales reached 1,39,197 units, compared to 1,21,514 units during the same period in 2025. This represents a volume addition of 17,683 units and a 14.55% growth rate over the year-earlier period.
Commenting on the performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, attributed the highest-ever May results to strong alignment between the product portfolio and evolving buyer preferences. He highlighted sustained demand for Seltos and Sonet alongside encouraging responses to the Carens Clavis, Clavis EV, and MY26 Syros. Kia currently supports its sales network through 891 touchpoints spread across 402 cities in India, backed by 130 certified pre-owned outlets.
