Mahindra cars getting costlier in April 2026 — It's happening sooner than you think
- 1Mahindra will increase prices of its ICE SUVs and commercial vehicles
- 2price hike will go up to 2.5%, with an average increase of around 1.6%
- 3Mahindra’s electric vehicles will not see any price increase for now
If buying a Mahindra has been on your mind, April 6 is a date to keep in mind. The company has confirmed a price increase across its petrol and diesel SUV and commercial vehicle range. While the numbers might not look alarming on paper, they do translate to real money on popular models that already sit in the Rs 15–25 lakh on-road bracket.
There is some relief, though. The price change does not apply to everything. Mahindra’s electric lineup remains unchanged for now and one new model is temporarily excluded. For the rest of the ICE range, prices are about to move up.
Mahindra car prices rising — How much more you will pay and why

Mahindra is calling it a result of cost pressures, and that sums it up well. Input costs have been rising steadily, whether it is materials, logistics, or imported parts. The industry has been dealing with this for a while now and price hikes were expected.
Compared to the last increase in March 2025, which went up to 3%, this one is relatively mild. The current revision averages around 1.6% and tops out at 2.5%. Put simply, on a Rs 20 lakh SUV, that translates to an increase of about Rs 32,000 on average and close to Rs 50,000 at the upper end. It is not insignificant, even if it does not feel dramatic in isolation.
When do the new Mahindra prices come into effect?
The price change kicks in from April 6, 2026. Mahindra shared the update on April 2, leaving a brief gap for buyers to act. Everything now depends on whether the booking is price-protected. If it is, the current price holds. If it is not, the updated rates will apply.
This approach is common across the industry. Brands usually keep the window short to avoid sudden spikes in demand at dealerships. For anyone already considering a Mahindra, this is the moment to check details with the sales team and avoid surprises later.
Mahindra XUV 7XO exception — Newest Mahindra gets a price shield

The Mahindra XUV 7XO follows a slightly different timeline for this price revision. According to Mahindra, the hike will take effect only after the first 40,000 price-protected bookings are delivered. Until then, those early buyers remain unaffected.
Initial demand has already been strong, with 93,689 bookings recorded within hours of opening. That means many buyers will eventually fall outside this protected bracket and move to the revised pricing. The XUV 7XO builds on the success of the XUV700, which has already crossed 3 lakh customers. This version adds more tech and a more premium layer. Prices currently range from Rs 13.66 lakh to Rs 25.07 lakh.
The highlight inside is the triple 12.3-inch screen setup. It also gets a 16-speaker audio system with Dolby support. Updates include a new suspension system, better ADAS with extended range, and a 540-degree camera with underbody view. It also gets features like ventilated rear seats and a panoramic sunroof. Petrol and diesel engines continue, with AWD on select variants.
