Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric India launch date confirmed — 715km range, local assembly

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the Electric GLC will launch in India on 4 November 2026. The electric SUV will be locally assembled in India, allowing the company to bring it here within six months of its global debut. Mercedes-Benz says this makes the Electric GLC the fastest global model to reach India in CKD form.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric design
The Electric GLC follows Mercedes-Benz's latest design language, with a star-pattern LED lighting signature and a large illuminated grille at the front. Depending on the variant, the SUV can also be equipped with wheels of up to 21 inches. Mercedes-Benz could also introduce AMG Line variants in India, which would get sportier bumpers and a more aggressive exterior design.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric interior and features
The biggest highlight inside the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is its 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which is the largest display Mercedes-Benz has fitted to a production car so far. It stretches across the dashboard and combines the driver's display, central touchscreen and passenger screen into one continuous unit.
The system runs a newer version of Mercedes-Benz's MBUX software and gets a built-in AI assistant. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz has brought back physical buttons and rotary controls on the steering wheel and centre console. This gives the cabin a mix of digital screens and more familiar controls, instead of relying entirely on touch-based functions.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric battery and performance
The India-spec Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric will be offered only in the 400 4Matic variant. It gets a 94kWh battery pack, with Mercedes-Benz claiming a range of up to 715km on the WLTP cycle. Power comes from a dual-motor setup, which also gives the SUV all-wheel drive as standard.
The system produces a combined 483bhp and 800Nm of torque, helping the Electric GLC accelerate from 0- 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Despite weighing more than 2,500kg, it can still deliver strong performance.
Rear-wheel steering will also be offered as standard. The India-spec model uses the regular 2,972mm wheelbase, rather than the long-wheelbase version sold in China, which gets an additional 55mm between the front and rear axles.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric expected India price
The Electric GLC is expected to be priced between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 85 lakh, ex-showroom, helped by its local assembly in India. Once launched, its most direct rival will be the BMW iX3, which is expected to come to India next year in its long-wheelbase form.
